Withour a bore scope, either optical or video, you are wandering around in the dark and have no information on bore quality or condition. These instruments are well worth the investment.

Really expensive -- but I never regret buying one. I've learned more about BORE CLEANING than I could ever learn from watching videos or reading books about bore issues. It's a revelation!

Agreed. I had the teslong one that I thought was pretty good but the Hawkeye you can really see into the details more clearly.

I sure do love my Lyman and it's price. Best trick is to use it as a web cam and a laptop rather than the included screen.

I first learned of the Lyman after flipping thru an older addition of Handloader magazine and a detailed article they had of it and like it's price over the Hawkeye. Good info here on both companies. The Hawkeye does look hard to beat, but that price point is a bit steep for me.

It's nice to see how your barrel is holding up but just because it has fire cracking doesn't mean it won't shoot anymore. I had one that shot a good 700 rounds more that had fire cracking.

True. Youst bought a teslong. and my 243 win barrel had same amount of fire cracking as the barrel in this video. it still shoots great aftre 450 rounds.

I can't wait to see your budget 300prc build. I think i'm going to build one using a remage barrel. I haven't checked the price of the headspace guages yet though. Might scare me to death.

Chatter and tooling marks in your first barrel! That is a barrel that should have been lapped before ever firing a round through it in the first place. The physical and chemical erosion processes after firing these cheaper production barrels like this one, make it difficult if not impossible to salvage them in the aftermath.

Quick question as far as presses go. Now that the new Dollon XL750 is out is it any better to load Creedmoor now then it was compared to the Hornady AP? Which would you choose to reload Creedmoor?

That barrel, with the twist fluting , looks not so great.. International barrel looks like it has some gawling and theBenchmark looks perfect. That’s why I like the Hawkeye.
