Buy or Rent the Movie - • Back to the Future 3
In this final chapter, Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) obtains a 70-year-old message from the time-traveling Dr. Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd), in which he informs Marty that he has retired to a small town in the Old West. Marty then finds out that the Doc was murdered shortly after sending the letter. In order to save his friend, Marty will have to travel back in time, disentangle a lovestruck Doc from a local schoolmarm, and repair the DeLorean -- all while avoiding a posse of gunslingers.

The simplest solution they would have done is: 1) go to the old mine and take the gas from the other DeLorean and change the part of the car that was broken by the arrow, and 2) go back to 1985.

The writer Bob Gale, and director Robert Zemeckis, both said that they know it technically doesn’t make sense to have Lea Thompson portraying Marty’s paternal great great grandmother, as it begs the question of incest lol…. But they wanted to include the “Mom is that you?” recurring gag, and knew it wouldn’t be right without Lea Thompson being there for Marty to wake up to. So basically, they chalked it up to a genetic “trait” that all McFly men are attracted to women who kinda look like Lea Thompson…. Citing that even Jennifer has similar features to her. Lol it’s a suuuuper thin excuse, but the writer/director at least acknowledge it. It’s all in service of keeping all 3 movies consistent.

A “bustier” is on the top of the body, covering a woman’s chest, has cups and is meant to push up the breasts; a “corset” is meant to cinch in the waist and is often underneath the breasts; a “bustle” is on the lower part of the body, is worn underneath skirts in order to add padding to and raise up the rear end. Dresses worn with a bustle usually had a straight front and the backside was elaborately decorated. Bustles were invented in the 1860’s and went out of fashion by the early 1900’s.

Here is a fun fact: There were four DeLoreans present in Hill Valley in 1955: 1.) The DeLorean Marty takes from 1985 ("Back to the Future, Pt. 1"). 2.) The DeLorean hidden by Doc in 1885 ("Back to the Future, Pt. 3"). 3.) The DeLorean Biff takes from 2015 to 1955 ("Back to the Future, Pt. 2"). 4.) The DeLorean Marty and Doc used to travel from alternate 1985 to 1955 to stop Biff ("Back to the Future, Pt. 2").

Love your reactions to the trilogy, BUT, ... you miss so many clues & info through talking too much (just pause a sec or two) .. looking at the comments loads and also .... you asked (at the drive-in cinema) 'Why could they not go to an open area' .. Doc explains to Marty that they came here so that he would not crash into any unexpected trees when he lands back in 1885. !! Biff in 1885 is Buford Tannen ... !! accident what accident' = rewatch Part 2 (2015) ... M.J. Fox did his own stunts ... fun fact, most of Marty's other charactor's have green & brown eyes, Marty has blue-ish ... the train going over the ravine was a real train, not a model, it was a real car that the train ran over, when asked to do it, the train driver & co driver said they had wanted to do that all there lives .... and remember this is a comedy 🙂

In Part II - there's a scene where the stuntwoman DOES get badly injured. When Griff and his goonies crash into the Court House Mall (in 2015) - you can see the stuntwoman playing the "girl goony" hits the concrete pillar before hitting the glass. One of the pullies malfunctioned and made her hit the pillar - I believe she was hospitalized for her injuries - but they still used the scene in the movie and you can still see it.

Greetings and Love from Köln/Cologne, Germany. My dear Jane. This here goes out to you. You're the first person I've seen in a long time who reacts so extremely and obnoxiously when the tension of a film increases. The last person I saw with such an anxiety disorder was myself. The incident that made me do something about it happened when I was at the movies with my girlfriend in the 90s. During the movie “Jurassic Park,” I suddenly couldn’t stand the excitement I was expecting and left the theater. I was very embarrassed and really angry at myself for ruining a lovely movie night with my girlfriend. I would like to tell you how I got this disorder under control and now even use it to my advantage. Who knows, maybe it can help you too. Every time I watched the films I feared the worst. I saw my anxiety and tension as an evil disease. So much so that it almost made me mentally ill. Then I first changed my way of thinking. From negative to positive. I no longer saw an illness but a way of life and learned to enjoy this feeling. Since these exciting films usually have a happy ending, the relief afterwards was almost like a climax. I even became a so-called “tension delayer” who managed to build up the tension higher and higher internally. Many people who have never suffered from such a disorder cannot imagine how it has positively changed me as a person. This may certainly sound like it's really easy. but it is not. And such a problem is not ridiculous, but very serious. Even though I'm sure I'll get some unpleasant comments about it, I wanted to share my story with you in the hope that you will find support in it and maybe even help you. I hope it so much. Have a peaceful day day, both of you. And please go on with your channel. Tschüss, ihr Lieben

In chapter II, there is a conversation where the mom explains that there was an accident with a Rolls Royce, and Marty's hand gets injured & he's no longer able to play the guitar - hence, he's never able to have the career he wanted. In the first chapter, there is a newspaper headline that explains that the Brown Mansion was destroyed & sold to developers. That's why he lived in that small place, in the opening of the movie. The sherriff had been out of town for a hanging. That's one reason why Biff was able to do whatever he wanted, when Marty first arrived in town. All in all, it's a great series. It's one of the few, where each chapter feels like a "beginning", a "middle", and a "finale". It's rare to have a film series that actually feels like it was meant to be a trilogy, though it hadn't been planned by the end of the first movie. By the second film, they definitely knew - hence the "To be concluded". I would say that it's my favorite movie series, and in spite of Star Wars existing, and all the other great films I've seen since, I always come back to it. It's the film series I've seen most. Whenever I see one of the chapters on TV. I end up going back to the beginning & rewatching the whole series.

You guys were interested in the timing of the Strickland line. It _is_ interesting because of the gag of Principal Strickland looking the same in '55 and '85, about which Marty says, "[d]idn't that man ever have hair?" So i think the idea is that long life runs in that line, so Principal Strickland was perhaps 67 in '85 and 37 in '55, i.e. born ~1918. For most of us, that'd make him the grandson of the kid in 1885. But if these Stricklands live longer and have kids later than most guys, and the kid was born in 1875, Principal Strickland would've been born the year the kid turned 43 and thus would be the kid's son. That's more common today than it was back then, but you still see it in genealogical records of that time. It wasn't particularly rare, just not the norm for most men.
@cp368productions2
@cp368productions2 3 ай бұрын
A lot of men had children in their 40's and 50's back then, a lot of women died younger and men often remarried a girl in her early 20's. So Principal Strickland most likely was the kid's son.

@@toodlescae Indeed, my own paternal great- grandfather was born in 1873 and his four kids (at least those four i have a record of) were fathered when he was ages 37-43. The youngest of those was my grandfather, who was in fact born in 1917 and begat his 2 at ages 24 and 27 ... and my father had 2, the first of whom i have only an estimated year for but his ages were ~23 and then 30. If i go back one more generation, my 2X-great paternal-line grandfather was born around 1849 and had 6 kids at ages ranging from 24-39. To be fair to my point, though, the fifth was 7 years before the last, thus when he was about 32.

It’s possible that Crispin Glover would’ve played Seamus if they hadn’t had all those issues over the sequel. The producers didn’t intend to create confusion about why all the ancestors looked the same. They just had to somehow get Lea Thompson in this movie. The producers simple answer is that McFly men are predisposed to marry women that look like Lea.

Also, it's known fact that while it isn't necessarily incest, most Irish immigrants would marry others within their small clan of other Irish immigrants. For example, take Conan O'Brian, when his DNA was tested for his ancestry, it was determined he is like 100% Irish. Even most of the Irish in Ireland today can't claim that. So it's likely that Maggie and Lorraine were related.

Mary Steenburgen ("Clara") actually had one of her 'breakout' roles in the '70s in a cult-favorite time travel movie! "Time After Time", also starring Malcolm McDowell and David Warner. McDowell is H.G. Wells, actually creates time machine instead of just writing about it. Warner is "Jack The Ripper", steals it to escape punishment in his own era. Wells chases JTR 'back to the future' to apprehend him, Steenburgen plays the modern woman that takes Wells in and eventually falls for him. Changes the timeline! Returns with him to the 19th Century..and is a suffragette! I was so stoked to see her in this, I'm hoping the casting director did it on purpose. 'She's done time-travel stuff before, right?..' 😊

My theory is everything is just a dream, notice that Marty always sleeps and wake up every time, it's like dream within dreams. Either Marty never really wakes up or we don't know when he really wakes up. The story goes on between the dream and the real thing. Doc Brown never existed, there is no time machine. It is the only thing that explains all the plot holes and shenanigans. (Take a note that the Delorean in the mine is the same Delorean Marty use going back to 1885 and then back to 1985, it is impossible because if he did that the Delorean won't be in the mine, so there must be TWO Deloreans in 1885 when Marty arrives in 1885. Doc could just use spare parts from the future Delorean to repair the broken Delorean. If that the case, the whole thing is a paradox because the Delorean never be in the mine to begin with)

Also I went to see the Musical on the day you published this. There will never be a part 4 as long as Bob Gail is alive. that's the deal he made to universal so no one can damage the franchise with another sequel, reboot, or remake. However through other mediums of media. The story continues after part 3 in the following formats. Back To The Future the animated series the time traveling adventures of Doc's kids. Back to the Future the ride at universal studios where on the ride you learn that Doc later in the future organizes a time school to train future time travelers. Back To The Future the game which takes place right after part 3 and it's the closest we'll ever get to a Back To The Future 4. In fact the game was so long like the movies but longer that they had to split it into 5 parts Back to the Future Part 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8. Each part at quickest takes 2 hours to complete and watch all cut scenes of the game just like a movie. A back to the Future short where Doc 30 years after part 3 explains how we did not get the future the movie predicted and Doctor Brown has a good explanation for it. There is a behind the scenes movie of where and how Back to the Future got made from the Idea to franchise. It's a good movie plot within it's self about the story behind the story. There's comic books that tell you more about Marty and Docs adventures after part 3 and before part 1 like how they met and stuff. Also comics about things during the movies like what Doc did during those 8 months in the west and what he did in the future before going back to get Marty and Jenifer. How did he turn the car into a flying car and stuff like that. Back to the future Legos where we see Lego Marty and Doc go on time travel adventures in other movie franchises like Batman and Harry Potter and along with that cross over comics like magin-ex and Marvel in Lego commercials. The last thing and more recently added to the franchise is Back To The Future the Musical on Broadway and the West End. It's basically the first movie but with dance numbers and songs and deeper character development where you get to know things about each character that wasn't in the movie like Jenifer's cousin Kevin who hooks Marty up to play a rock and roll song in Hill Valley or that Strickland is actually Marty's principle not teacher. There's a lot of new stuff and things that changed do to it being impossible to put on stage but It's like watching a new Back To The Future and more importantly going into this musical. It feels like your watching it for the first time. So if you want to see more Back To The Future and react to them on Patron and KZfaq. If you want to see a Back to the Future Part 4. These are your only options but it's a lot of options to choose from. If you do a pole on this. I will garrente you that people don't want to see you to react to all of these but if there's one I would want first timers of BTTF to react to. I recommend you due a pole of the Musical or game and then which ever of these 2 win. React to that as your back to the Future part 4

Doc doesn't owe him any money; Tannen is just trying to bully Doc into submission (like all bullies do), and if you submit, you send a message to the bully that he can always bully you into submission. Today it's 80 dollars, tomorrow it's 100. Then it's 150. The entire first movie was literally about this. George McFly never stood up to Biff since high school and in 1985, was still being bullied by him. The "accident" Doc refers to was mentioned in the second film while they were in 2015. While Jennifer is hiding the closet, she overhears Marty's mom fussing about how Marty lacks self-control when someone calls him a name. It's was this weakness that landed him in an automobile accident where he hurt his hands and had to "give up on his music," because he couldn't play guitar anymore. There is a scene where Jennifer is sneaking out and she overhears future Marty sitting in a chair strumming his guitar, but it's off-key. She turns to look, puzzled as to why Marty can't play.

"Outside theater or whatever, what's it called, drive, drive-in?" Hey Jane, I'm guessing you've never had the opportunity to experience one have you? This is why I love reactions on YT, as you get to see so many other peoples life experiences and points of view. I'm in Vegas, and I think we have one Drive-In left, but I know most have died off around the country. I'll assume it is just no longer a viable technology, especially with almost everyone having smart phones. But it was a big part of my childhood growing up in the 70's & 80's.

33:00 - The song you're hearing (or at least, the one you're humming) is "Turkey in the Straw". It's a popular folk melody. I remember hearing it for the first time when I was a kid -- Sharon, Lois and Bram had a version of the song on one of their albums. 38:00 - Well, "fan service" is the correct term, but whether it applies to that scene depends largely on your point of view. I feel like changing the past would be difficult due to the infinite causality loop theory. It states that going back in time to prevent something gets rid of your reason for going back in time in the first place resulting in the event happening anyway. The only way to really change the past is to do so indirectly, and not by actually changing the events of the past. In other words, you seek not to prevent it from happening, but to stop it as it is occurring so as to allow the event to unfold, but to change the outcome rather than the event itself.

@@briantidwell651 According to the movie producers, while Marty initially didn't have any memories of the new timeline, they slowly caught up to him over time. The first signs of Marty transforming into his new self is his sudden hate for being called a chicken. By the end of the trilogy when he returns from 1885, he refers to his new family as 'back to normal', which means one can assume that, while he'll always remember the old timeline, he has gained significant portion of his new memories. I believe, by the end of all three movies, Marty has two sets of memories. Eventually, as time goes on, his older memories would become less vivid and fuzzy while his new memories will become dominant and more clear (since the new timeline is the one that exists, while the old one doesn't). Like I said, the writers themselves pretty much confirmed this in interviews, so that mean it's true.

Thomas F Wilson really shows his superb acting talents as Buford "Mad Dog" Tannen in this sequel. This ancestor of Biff's is truly a killer who would not think twice about shooting either Marty or Doc. In a deleted scene from the movie, he eventually shot Marshal Strickland in the back, and the Marshal dies in his young son's arms afterwards. Buford is finally arrested by the Deputy after his encounter with Marty in front of the whole town. He is arrested for robbing rhe Pine City stagecoach, but not for the murder of Marshal Strickland - it is never known whether or not that eventually becomes public knowledge since it is never mentioned again in the movie. Brilliant casting as always diring the entire trilogy! 👍😁😁😁👏👏👏👏👏

Doc didn't get electrocuted because he has long rubber gloves on, you can see them in the movie even when he is working on the line. Besides the lightning effect was for our eyes, you won't see that current inside the cable. "another reason he didn't get fried". now if he used the wrong gauge of wire we would see the wire's covering melt and the Doc would be in trouble of his gloves doing the same thing form the over heating\melt down of the cable. My neighbor had one of them moments, hooking up a 120 extension cord to a 220 camper with a adapter. People in the camper turned on to many things, and the cord melted in the yard real fast.

To pre-empt the usual comment - they couldn't have got fuel from the car in the mine as Doc would have drained the fluids for storage. (Also messing with the car after Marty had arrived using it would likely have been a paradox risk which they would avoid, for similar reasons Marty didn't go back until *after* Doc had written the letter that lead to him going back, even though that only gave him a few days.)

To add more context why we drain fuel tanks for storage, gasoline degrades with time. It wouldn’t be very good in a mere 6 to 12 months let alone 80 years. Plus water separates from still gasoline after a few months and would start to rust the tank. It’d be rusted out in 80 years.

This movie has a huge mistake in it. Clara Clayton was supposed to have died in the ravine, which is why it's called Clayton Ravine in 1985. But Doc saved her and changed time. But it says in the photo that Marty brought back with him to 1885 about a 'beloved Clara'. That meant that Doc went out and saved her originally without Marty being there. Why would Doc just suddenly go help a strange woman without Marty forcing him along? It's messed up if you think about it. Everyone Clara interacts with after being saved, everything she does will all cause ripple effects in time that alters events. She's a living Butterfly Effect
@RodConvoy1987

In Doc's first timeline in 1885, he met up with Clara (at the train stop area, think), as a request by that guy, which prevented her from later being thrown off the cliff in the original timeline. In the next timeline, Marty convinced Doc to not pick up Clara, therefore leading to nearly being tossed off the cliff, as in the first timeline, but Marty and Doc had been nearby and saved her. In your final comment, you're right, since Marty and Doc saved her, having her stay in 1885 then could create temporal problems, so it'd be best to take her back to 1985.

Before Doc Brown became his signature role, he was best known as Jim Ignatowski, a burned out hippie taxi driver in the TV show, Taxi. Taxi is a show I fear is almost forgotten today, despite great writing and a cast of actors that included Danny Devito, Rhea Pearlman, Tony Danza, the late Andy Kaufman, Judd Hirsh, Marilu Henner, Jeff Conway (R.I.P.) not to mention walk on roles by actors who were unknown at the time. I saw Tom Hanks as an extra, playing a stoned college student who wordlessly stole the show. I remember when Michael J Fox was working in different shows at the same time. He didn’t abandon his original TV sitcom when he became a big star. He was the first star that I knew of who remained loyal. It was unheard of. I’m almost positive I gave him a ride from Venice to Santa Monica when he first came to Hollywood. A male acquaintance asked me quickly (as I was in the car about to drive north on the coast) to give his friend a lift. He was a little excited and said the guy was an actor just come from Canada - he might have said he was in TV in Canada so I sort of expected him to be talkative or passionate about acting, his hopes and dreams. He got in the car, almost autistic, quiet, introverted, I longed to ask him about acting because I love it, but there was no opportunity to talk privately and the drive was short. I always assumed people came to LA to get in the business and got rejections and got sidetracked by life because that’s what I had seen. It never entered my mind that this quiet introverted young man could already have a deal in the bag and would become a beloved star to 2024! I always remembered it, and suspected it was him, but it didn’t occur to me until last year watching all these BTTF reactions that it really could be Michael J Fox in my car that day. I googled the timeline and that year he came to LA with his Dad. I’m 99.99999 % sure it was him. You do bump into actors in LA now and then. I’ve seen a few!
