Just so you know in the comics, Deadpool did a 16 wall break first and there’s one where he ended up killing the whole crew that wrote the comics because they were so bad in Deadpool’s opinion

btw, since Jane mentioned the alliteration thing, that was one of Stan Lee's tricks. He was writing so many comics simultaneously, he gave a lot of his characters alliterative names to remember who was who. Hence, Peter Parker, Bruce Banner, Reed Richards, etc.

A part of Deadpool's abilities he was injected with was actually taken from wolverines blood. Which is why he has the healing factor. And Deadpool and Wolverine have this on going rivalry that Deadpool takes as a friendship. He has a similar thing going on with spiderman. Spodermon! 😂 And Ryan Reynolds has been hounding High Jackman for years, to return as wolverine to be in a Deadpool movie. And recently. Hugh Jackman said he would.

@@TheOfficialPolo They don't specifically get into it in the Deadpool movie but Ajax or Francis "Fanny" Freeman is in the comics and does work on "Weapon X", or Weaopon 10. The Weapons Plus program started with Captain America (weapon) and evolved away from the government military to more clandestine operations. I assumed Ajax in the movie still has the same back story but being one of the only living remaining members of the clandestine Weapons operation I figured he branched of as a pseudo Department K. It's confusing though because of all the reiterations. Like in Age of Apocalypse Wolverine isn't even known as Wolverine, just Weapon X and Deadpool gets his powers from Apocalypse. Although technically Apocalypse dismantles the Weapons program and still uses its resources to give Deadpool his powers. It's hard to keep track of all the universes but my understanding was the program would take DNA from previous Weapons and incorporate their abilities into other victims so I had assumed Deadpool got his healing abilities from Wolverine as Weapon X was like pinnacle of perfection in the program which connects to Logan and Wolverine's DNA being used on Daphne, (X- 23) and Wolverine's clone (X- 24). I found it pointed that these 2 aren't called Weapon 23 or 24 because the "X" refers to being connected to Weapon X. Deadpool's name choice in the movie is completely different from the comics as the "Pool" part in the comics was because they "pooled" multiple Weapons abilities and incorporated them into Wade. But now everything is being rescripted so really it's anyone's guess wtf is going on.

Indeed, however even the fox version quotes he got his powers through a mix of different x genes. And in the movie they only describe it as a serum to expose latent mutant genetics in the DNA. So they never fully explained what is in it. So they could retcon that out but they haven't yet.

You brought up the point that his mutant ability is healing his cancer. Conversely, it is producing his cancer just as fast. Also, Francis' employees couldn't tell Deadpool where he was because they knew him as Ajax not Francis. That's the running gag in the movie.

fun fact, limping is a pain response the body uses to prevent you from putting to much weight onto an already damaged body part. so since francis doesnt feel pain he wont limp

The exterior shots of Xavier school are of Hatley Castle, just outside of Vancouver. The same castle has been used in multiple superhero shows/movies, the 3 most prominent being the school for gifted youngsters in the x-men franchise, the Queen mansion in the Arrow TV show, and most notably as the Luther Mansion in Smallville.

It's funny that it was the Blade series of movies that can be thanked for introducing Ryan to the Deadpool comics. Until that point, he'd never heard of the character.

It was an R rated superhero film that blew the top off the box office. He had to fight for years to get it made properly, why he was in Wolverine: Origins as that bad version, they told him he could make it right and backed out. But this allowed other R rated films to be made like Logan

There's been a long history of cinematic 4th wall breaking. Woody Allen used to do it a whole lot in his earlier films. It's been done on the stage and screen in musicals, and so on. She Hulk may have been the first to do it in a super hero comic book. But it was not invented in comic books or comic book movies. It was famously done through much of the novel, "The Once and Future King". And so on. And so on.

When I first saw the concept video way back around 2012 (I think thats when it was released), I felt like a kid getting 5 Christmas' at once! Deadpool was always my comic favorite as a kid, before I was probably old enough to be reading those comics. I know its a bit of a shocker for people who aren't slightly depraved like me and are expecting a normal marvel film, but I was still so excited to see you guys watch it!

In the comics his healing factor doesn't heal his cancer, in fact is enhances it. Because his cancer is part of him, his healing factor doesn't recognize his cancer as a problem. In the comics Deadpool's face isn't messed up because it's burnt, it's messed up because it's covered in tumors. But since his healing factor won't let him die, he's still alive, just riddled with cancer.

His face is messed up from a period of time where his healing factor was cut off. When it is working right, it essentially just keeps giving him new cells. It's also why he can regrow from body parts.

Fun fact I didn't notice until someone pointed it out to me: Wade's search for "Francis" goes so badly because no one knows who he's talking about. Everyone knows him as "Ajax." (EDIT: Ha ha ha! As soon as I posted, you pointed it out!! Damn!)

Great reaction. And great voiceover promoting your patreon! Fox initially rejected the Deadpool movie after seeing the proof of concept. Then the clip was "accidentally leaked" to the Internet, and the overwhelming fan response made them change their minds. You absolutely don't have to say "I love you" just because someone said it first. I'm looking forward to your reaction to Deadpool 2.

The majority of the movie was shot in Vancouver, including the highway scenes on the bridge at the beginning. There are 8 alien movies, and ALL of them are on Disney+ --> Alien, Aliens, Alien 3, Alien Resurrection, Alien: Prometheus, Alien: Covenant, Alien vs Predator, Alien vs Predator: Requiem, Predator 2 (there's only an Alien easter egg, but it's there...)

Nice reactions to the original Deadpool film, Canadian Kids!!!🎬👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽The freeway scene is the Georgia Viaduct, a twin overpass linking Downtown Vancouver with the district of Strathcona. Most of the buildings on the sides of the freeway are green screen to make it look like a U.S. city.

They do have a helicarrier in the scene. The movie's commentary actually talks about it. They couldn't call it a helicarrier due to copyright, but it is one.

The highway scene was actually filmed in Vancouver. There is a YT video about the filming of that scene and the highway was shut down for 6 hours each day for 3 weeks.

In case no one has mentioned it, the Helicarrier isn’t from Avengers, since Deadpool is Fox production pre Disney buyout, the Helicarrier in this movie is an iteration from the comic books.

Where was the Deadpool highway scene shot? The film proper opens with, and regularly returns to, the freeway where Deadpool intends to wreak long-awaited revenge on Ajax. It's the Georgia Viaduct, a twin overpass linking Downtown Vancouver with the district of Strathcona.

I think Deadpool is more of an anti-hero imo. He's not really a _good guy,_ he does bad guy things with good guy intentions.... sometimes.😁 But the 4th wall breaks are purely cannon, he does it even in the comics too😂
