Maxtrax Xtreme | Best 4x4 Recovery Tracks On The Market

Recovery tracks have changed the way that us 4wders get out of recovery situations. Gone are the days where you just keep digging and put whatever timber you can find under your 4x4 to get out.
Maxtrax have been the leaders in the market ever since their original Maxtrax came out. I have been a massive fan of Maxtrax ever since I purchased my first set in 2011.
But now Maxtrax has lifted their game by taking their great product and making it even better with the Maxtrax Xtreme. I would dare say they are almost indestructible!

In my area, if you are remote and on the trail (track), if you get bogged down and need to be rescued by a tow truck.... $500 is about what you will pay for one rescue depending on how remote you are and IF...IF...IF they can get to you.

I can't believe neither you nor anyone else has commented on the spectacular backdrop. That place is a well kept secret and the view is absolutely breathtaking. Every single time. Even more amazing is that you can drive about 60kms from Perth, half of it being all bush and in the hills, and then suddenly you can see the CBD skyline.

Great Vid Michael. I once wondered if MaxxTrax saw my version many years ago and copied it except did a proper job LOL. I used to get the old bread crates and cut the bottoms out of those and carried four in my car for our WA beach adventures. They worked (albeit) you needed to get them laying totally flat so required proper ground preparation (otherwise you spun your wheels on them) but they gave me enough hard ground to get some momentum up to get me going again. The poor wife had to carry them to what ever spot I deemed hard enough for me to stop on once I had gotten out though hahaha ... she’s a good girl! Great vid mate!

Recovery tracks in general are also great if you're in an area without other 4WD friends to help out, and places where you don't have anything to attach a winch to. Not to mention they can be used on more softroader type vehicles which may not have the option of good solid winch capable bull bars, rated recovery points and so on. The tracks can really be used on any vehicle - so they're super handy.

Great review mate. I bought my first set 3 years ago from supercrap auto for $220 on sale, then my second set a week later for $160 (using points gained from the earlier buy to help bring the price down), so will pay to wait for supercrap sales to buy these I reckon. I've used mine several times in the Pilbara due to driving a prado & swear by them (never needed recovery gear when I had my old MK Triton!).

I'm baffled how people think these aren't useful. I'm actually thinking of getting a set of these, I was going to get a $100 set after your cheap track comparison video, but I feel like buying something that lasts 8 years with replacement teeth would be worth it. I worked in a plastic factory as a kid and the blend of ingredients mixed with the price of the moulds is pretty extreme, finding the best mix of those ingredients is the most expensive thing, it appears maxtrax have got it right on.
