I got confused why you took the screw piece out and put in the fermenter valve, stopped the vide and put it back together...
@vhfgamer3 жыл бұрын
It can be used as either a fermenter or a distiller. If you want to use it as a fermenter, you take the screw piece out and put in the airlock fermenter. If you want to use it as a still, then you take out the fermenter airlock and put in the screw piece. It's multi function.

Sorry if it’s a dumb question but what’s the point of the airlock, should I use it before I do anything else?
@remmahneb3 жыл бұрын
The airlock is so you can ferment, then you don’t have to transfer containers.

I’m trying to use mine to distill essential oils. Where does the other end of the 2 tubes go?

@@sansaberi1 so one hose should have water going in and the other hose should have the water coming out and just down the drain?
@ALRULZ19652 жыл бұрын
@@Ryan-fosho You can use small pump to circulate water instead of wasting it down the drain, just needs to be kept cold.

Great. Now demonstrate how to get liquid to it with the hoses not connected to anything. Fucking thing won't work without any kind of water pump.

Honestly I highly recommend you not buy one of these because they tend to be a cheap product speaking mainly of the ones with this design / available on Amazon build one buying expensive one do not buy one of these cheap ones coming from someone who quite literally got blown up due to improper steals the burns are healing

I'm sorry to say it, but it's a piece of shit and no still. It's too small to be practical. It's made out of questionable materials and the construction itself is a true nightmare. There are way better and cheaper alternatives if one wants to distill at home. The only positive to say about it is that they at least put some stainless and copper into it. Oh, I almost forgot...try to regulate the heat in that thing on a usual cook plate and you'll end up swearing and coursing. If you don't cook on gas you'll end up building a regulation system for the heating. Otherwise, you can forget to get something drinkable out of that contraption..ever. 119 $ for that shit is what they call robbery on open street elsewhere in the world. It's hardly worth the scrap price for the materials used.

Can you recommend me a five or 8 gallon still for around 100 bucks thanks
@kalleklp72913 жыл бұрын
@@isaaccutlip5815 Well, it depends on what product you want to make. For neutral a reflux still is the tool of choice, for flavored (like whiskey and brandies) a pot still is the choice. A pot still is also an excellent choice for stripping runs prior to making neutral in a reflux still. My recommendation would be a simple pot still for you to get the feeling of what's going on. 5 or 8 gallon is a good choice for the start. much smaller and you'll be disappointed with the outcome after the final spirit run. If you have some metalwork skills building your own will certainly keep the price tag down..by far. I don't know where in the world you are so it's hard to make recommendations of what to buy. :) However, before you distill so much as a drop I'd strongly recommend making yourself familiar with the process of distilling, especially the safety concerns. Here is a link to a serious site with experienced distillers that won't fill you with nonsense and shit like this video. You'll find an abundance of information, tips, and building suggestions (if you chose to build your own). Here you are: homedistiller.org/forum/
