@@donkeykong6426 yes and I mean it could be something as simple as leaving the game untouched basically just allows you to play it. Or maybe they could make the ring power up or optional and if you have to do to combine game optional so that way it would at least be the definitive version to play when I move in either having to buy a 32X and a copy of the game plus a Sega genesis or having to use an emulator

I hear it's because Sega of Japan feared that the 32X was going to flop, and thus, the Sonic game on said system would flop. So that's supposedly why it became a Knuckles game.

I think I had a rom of a Sonic the Hedgehog 4. It has the hub world music and it featured Sonic and Tails with tether rings. I know it existed because I tried so hard to finish the first level... Now I understand it was just incomplete xD Wish I could find it again

Indeed. Such a shame, that people give it a hate, simply because it was different from the classic trilogy, or because it wasn't simillar to Sonic Mania (which is basically the most strange claim, since Chaotix had much more new content and interesting ideas in general)

Breaking news, Knuckles' Chaotix was actually being made on Saturn, until Tom Kalinske asked a backport to 32x. When you walk through the "transparent" walls and compare them to the rest of the tileset, you'll notice a slight color quality loss at times.

Even if this was on the Saturn it would still probably fail due to the whole game being based on the Ring Tether Gimmick. But if Sega made this a main game with Sonic like they originally wanted to with Sonic Crackers, No ring tether or it’s for one Zone, Released on the Saturn and doing well, The future Sonic Games would probably look a lot different, The main Trio of Sonic, Tails, And Knuckles could have been a lot different and expanded to 6 or 7 characters instead of just 3 if what I mentioned was done.

I mean, Whitehead is open to remaking this one.

With it's ROM modified to edit the release date (©SEGA ENTERPRISES, LTD 1995-2019) and add Sonic and Tails properly (and also remove Wechnia, because Wechnia is actually a glitched version of Tails)...

And add Ray the Flying Squirrel.

Also they have a smart use of the backward springs, unlike in Sonic 3 where they are used as an obstacle and in Mania that sometimes kills me with blue spheres (thanks God that at least they are very easy to access in that game)

Maybe try getting a genesis emulator, and then download the game so you can play it. I had a genesis emulator on my phone they're not that hard to get.

Yea I was born in 2002 so I know how you feel, but I started to collect video games when I first started high school and can basically play any game I have a desire to. I have a 32X arriving tomorrow, so I'll be able to finally try this. Update: Played this with a friend. We put in the stage select code and played as Heavy and Bomb. It was really really fun.

I got it at the time 👍 Loved my 32X at the time, but on reflection, it was a pile of shit. Some awesome games though. Had this games soundtrack in my collection for the best part of two decades.

The good news is that you can emulate the 32X via the Mega Drive ROM option in Kega Fusion. That’s how I played the game, plus it allows quick saves for special stages which is good because you need them.

Albert Chavez it's hard since they'd need to emulate the whole 32x+Genesis hardware; and while yes, it's been done outside; it seems very hard to see on the near future (taking note on how long it took them to make those arcade ports to xbla or maybe they want to bury the 32x

It's not even "that" hard, most sprites, 3D stuff and a background are all working on a "bitmap image", or "Framebuffer". Which is pretty similar to how our computers and modern cell phones work...

I know people claim that 32X games would be “too difficult to port”, but in a modern era where the Xbox One X exists and is said to be the most powerful console ever, it should be more than possible to port Knuckles’ Chaotix to other systems. I would KILL for a Knuckles’ Chaotix port for Nintendo Switch (physical copy only, not digital; my Switch doesn’t have internet).

I thought the sound was off somehow. Like it felt half-muted.

This version of Gens has some innaccurate drums emulation for the 32X, I guess some people like things like that (I say this as a guy who still uses ZSNES, love it).
