Sega Genesis Mini 2 Review - Did We Really Need This? The Sega Genesis Mini 2 is here and as both a huge Sega fan and an avid mini console collector there was no way i was missing this. But if you aren't either of those things should you consider picking it up? In this review we look at the build quality, in console options and games list to see if you should consider picking this second version of the Genesis Mini up or are you better off sticking with the original Genesis Mini?

No problem I have both of them I didn’t opened number two yet it’s sealed in the box. I feel like it was sacrilege to repeat any other game and then not repeat road rash 2, about the best genesis game ever made 💫

I think with 100 games and both 3-button and 6-button controllers, these two consoles together are the ultimate mini console experience. I hope it does well enough to get a Saturn mini and a Dreamcast mini one day.

I totally agree. Those (1up) Arcade machines doesn't interest me so I don't watch those videos. But when he sometimes (sadly not very often) return to the retro consoles I am very happy.

You're a top man, this is a very well presented video. Agreed, this is more for the fans for sure and I love it a lot. Lets hope for a Master System Mini as I don't want the 8 bit Sega library to be overlooked.

My only gripe is that Sega didn't include any 32X titles. Maybe they're saving those for if they decide to make a Sega Mini 3.

I can't wait to get mine on the way from Japan! I never did get a chance to buy the sega mini 1 I really wanted one and some of the prices are steep for one! I do own the nes mini which is awesome! On this one I'm glad to see a number of shmups! To me it was a toss up of sega or pc engine that had the best shooters!

Just bought mine last night, was hoping for a price drop but it never happened so I went ahead and bit the bullet and paid full price on Amazon. I've even seen some reselling these for more on Ebay, once production stops these things could go up in value like the SNES mini. Going to do a review video on my experience with it.

i’m going to go ahead and buy this, I loved the original mini. I would have preordered it when it was announced if it had Snatcher. When it was announced that it had Sega CD titles, I was really hoping for Snatcher.

The 6 button controller that comes with the Genesis mini 2. Is it better than the retro bit made 6 button controller that you could buy on the side with the genesis mini 1?

It is nice. Just bad timing. Maybe get one if available next year. I'd love to support and they continue the mini consoles. I mean, what else are they up to?

Going to have to disagree with you on the Genesis 6 button control was the best controller for fighting games in that era. The SNES controller was far superior due to it's much more responsive and accurate D pad.

I didn’t purchase the Genesis Mini 1 due to it being a bit of a “ greatest hits” collection. The randomness of the Mini 2 is what led me to get one.

Pity games like _Sonic CD_ have to be presented in their original, compressed form instead of utilizing the much improved versions like the one by Christian Whitehead.

I think SNES classic has some solid hits from the 21 game library...however the Sega Genesis Mini 2 certainly offers more variety of games and different genres so to me as did the Sega Genesis Mini before it so to me the SNES classic mini has taken 3rd place.
