The crowd is "dead" for two reasons. One, it's a recording for Spotify sessions so they want everyone to be quiet. Two, this is clearly more of a performance art style show than a concert. Someone carefully constructing a sound environment and performing a song to it is enchanting. You should be paying attention to the performance rather than getting lost in it and dancing/singing along. Different settings, different expectations.

No prerecorded sounds were used, She made them all with her voice, Then looped and effected them as she sang the lyrics. WOW!

I've watched this a million times. I want to be brave enough to do this.

This clip never gets old. We export a lot of musical talent for such a small country but I reckon no one comes near Kimbra in terms of raw talent and an inherent fearlessness to fully explore and develop her craft.

Holy shit! If I had to listen to one single voice for the rest of my life, it would be hers. I mean, every single tone that comes out of this mouth makes my brain freeze, it's like I forget everything around me.

This is my favorite version. Every time I hear her sing this song, she seems to change it a little. This one is the best, in my opinion.

I love her version of this song and think she is extremely talented. I can't stop watching this video. (The pants are definitely a factor....but I do love the performance too.) As for crowd reaction, I see it like this: Most people are not really familiar with the process of looping. I loop live in layers like this and find that most crowds are just amazed by it. That is the reaction I see here. Watch it again with this in mind. You see the people struggling to get a look at what she is doing and smiling when they figure out it is all her. They are just amazed by the process. Not a dead audience. Just focused and in awe.My two cents.....for what it's worth.

The audience doesn't know how to feel nor react: They weren't ready for THIS. So used to Cookie Cutter b.s. everybody looking & sounding the same! This woman stood up there alone & basically was her own band. Her vocals, arrangement, her look, gestures, everything about her is refreshingly eccentric. She is an entire aesthetic. Lord bless her because I crave @#!% like this. Yes, this is the type of Genuine Art which garners Blank Stares & Apathy when you are used to only Ersatz Artists.

The reason the crowd is silent is because it's Austin, Texas and the indie crowd there knows how to enjoy a show without ruining the ambience of a soulful song with a bunch of cheering. I think the crowd is great. if you watch really closely there are heads bobbing and expressions changing, and they pay respect by not cheering until the end. Also, the performance was freakin' great as always.

is it only me or does this crowed seem boring... I would have danced with her or on the sideline, I get people wanna video her performance but I feel like there needs to be a balance. I won't judge those characters but I'll take living my life over sharing it any day.
