Based on the comments and KZfaq content on the subject of the Segway Navimow, we present a critical video on the climbing ability and usability of the Segway Navimow lawn robot.
At 16 kilograms, the Segway Navimow weights significantly more than the Husqvarna EPOS 550 at 14 kilograms, making it heavier than a robot lawn mower for 10,000 square meters.
00:00 Welcome
01:17 Cordless robotic lawn mowers - a serious warning
05:29 Segway Navimow - results after a few weeks
08:42 Stiga 1500 A - Cordless robot lawn mower - the test begins
Both devices are cordless robotic lawn mowers with RTK GPS equipment. Regardless of the navigation available, one of the key requirements for the success of a robotic lawnmower is weight distribution to avoid getting stuck in the terrain due to lack of traction. Due to its enormous weight and weight distribution, the Segway Navimow is not suitable for slopes in our opinion.
As can be seen from comments on the channel, there may currently be critical driving conditions and considerable potential danger on inclines. Robot lawn mowers must never be allowed on the road.
According to the operating instructions, cordless robotic lawn mowers require a mechanical barrier to roads, pools, ponds and other dangerous situations - a 15 centimeter high barrier.
Due to the way the Segway Navimow was driven, the ROBOSCHAF Premium test area suffered severe lawn damage on minimal inclines. The test was ended here for the time being. We will continue to use and install the Segway Navimow on flat plots.
Caution is advised with first-generation robotic lawnmower chassis, which are easy to spot due to their long design, heavy weight and wheels positioned far back.
ROBOSCHAF is also preparing a comparison of the Segway Navimow robotic lawnmower with the Husqvarna EPOS 550 robotic lawnmower. Possibly a little unfair, but it impressively demonstrates the superiority of a Generation 4 chassis.
STIGA offers such a Generation 4 chassis with the Stiga 1500 A in a wireless RTK version. This will soon be installed and commissioned by Stiga at the ROBOSCHAF test site. We expect significantly better performance from a cordless robot mower here.
