Hi, I am quite sure it does not use vision there at all - only gnss antenna. Segway says the channel has to be 1meter - so I am stretching it a bit. Until now the machine has got stuck once there, if it happens again I will need to do some small adjustments to it. The gnss antenna is placed on a shed approx 2m above ground with free sight above (I bought the extension kit). I plan to do some testing of moving areas with poor or no gnss reception later (with and without visionfence), I will try to make a video of it an post it :)

Hi Tamas! Some parts of the garden is not in sight of the gnss antenna at all - still I see there is reseption - but the app reports "orange" color - and some parts "red" (which I assume is no reception at all). When checking recommendations Segway promoted the VisionFence to assist here. There is a guide on Navimow you can take where you describe your garden and get the recommendation. You can find it here: navimow.segway.com/CheckList I will take a video next time it cuts the area with bad reception - with the VisionFence turned on. Next time I will test turning the VisionFence off to see the difference. I will post it when I have it ready. Here is a link to a picture showing the Navimow app and reception in my garden. Unfortunately a part of it is blocked here by a button in the app - but this area is "red". The red blocks is my house and shed - green is trees. Sorry - tydeligvis vært på ferie fra KZfaq også :) Det spørs vel om du klarer å sette antenna på en plass der det blir god dekning for begge områder. Dersom du har belegningssten imellom uten store hinder skal det gå fint - du lager bare en kanal igjennom.

I have had stiga, Husqvarna and Robomow. Can almost not compare the new generation with gnss to the wired versions - it's two different worlds. At least if you have a complex garden as myself.

@@iamjorgensen yes, but what about grip, does it make wheel spin on turn and so on? The one I have now has a habit of digging in and making holes in the grass, and getting stuck .

It has better grip than the once i have had before with "spikes" in the wheels - it should do 40 degree slopes. If you have more than that you need a 4 wheeler. Had issues with previous digging down as you describe. But still only had it for some weeks - let's see later this summer 👍

@@mka8606 still pure love against this machine. Had a issue with disconnection but after a talk with support a new battery was sent. No problems with grip - but you need to keep tires clean once in a while.

On the first mowing it will start with the edges and also do all island cuts. From what I see it looks quite accurate but as said I only had it for a couple of weeks and the growing season has not started yet 😊

Hi Kristaps! I think I found the optimal position of the gps antenna for my house, but still I have one area of the garden in front of my house where the signal is bad. This is maybe the main reason I opted for the visionfence camera as an addition. Until now it seems to cut this area well - but I will try to come with an update after a months time in use

@Christian Jørgensen ok, but how the visionfence going to help? Does it continue the work without GPS signal and relay only on visual perception? It's going to mow everything what is grass? I'm planning to buy one, but scared of situations where it's not going to work and I couldn't manage to do it

@@kripits Yes that is how I understand it - VisionFence will assist in situations where there are poor signals. I have now cut that area 3 times and seems to be ok (but to give 100% answer spring&summer must come with growth activity). I can mention that there is one area of the garden I do not allow the mower to cut. This is because there is poor signal AND a 1meter drop if something goes wrong. It's 15kvm so that I take manually.

If the mower can do 95% of my garden automatically and I have to do the rest myself I'm happy at least. 😀

Ha ha i know 😊 here it's because it's early spring in Norway and the grass has not started to grow properly yet 🤣 actually I plan to let the grass grow at some point and do a proper test 👍

When you use a robot, your lawn is always mowed, tall grass doesn't matter, it will only be the first time you use it and not a problem you will experience on a daily basis

they actually say you need to cut the grass to < 6 cm before using the robot.... that's kindof short already :-) I tried it on longer grass the first time and it's not very good at that. After a few runs it was better, - but - it's not for long grass. It doesn't do well with that.
