I assume a fair bit of labour goes into the dials, adding to the price but it's eye-wateringly expensive for a lowly Seiko 5 you might wear one day a year.

Seikos have different day wheels depending on the market. so English/Japanese in Japan, English/French in France, English/German, English/Spanish...

I know Seiko and Casio videos don't bring the views like the Rolex and Omega stuff you usually do, but I really love these brands and the fact you are starting to do more videos on them. There is a new Seiko Alpinist GMT (SPB379) that I haven't seen anyone review yet and think if you could score one to borrow and review you would see a lot of interest in it.

I love these watches! I love customization! I bought the Omega Railmaster Denim (because I am a cheapskate, and it was literally the cheapest coaxial Omega that I could find) but then sourced an Aqua Terra 007 bracelet (customization). I then watched every Bond movie that featured a train whilst wearing it! Happy Halloween!

German guy here. Yes, german date is a normal Seiko thing. Belongs to the market/region the watches are sold. „Original“ is japanese and english.

I like Seiko mods. I bought one a little while ago from a guy in Singapore. Not sure I would get a Halloween themed watch, but the hand painting on these is amazing. Has your husband been pumping iron? 4 months ago he had a 6.5" wrist. Lol.

Here in the Netherlands, Citizen watches come in german and english and work the same :) Edit: Formex is launching a sky inspired 39mm watch if you're looking for something out there. I want it but have to get my staples down first.

Such fun: the Halloween Motif isn't my jam, but IFL has done some gorgeous stuff with other Seikos (my fave being the "planet motif" Seiko 5 Sports GMT, which I think you also reviewed?), so I heartily endorse their work.

The day wheel can be had in many languages. I've never seen the German, but Kanji, Arabic, and some sort of Chinese are available on Seiko Mod sites. I like the Halloween theme on these, but feel like a hand painted dial doesn't justify 4x retail for the watches.

The Kanji dials also come in two forms. One has Japanese numbers and the symbol for Sunday, the other has symbols for all days of the week (I’m reliably informed as translated by my Japanese friend)

Oh wow I love the watch Dial they are Dope super fun watches, Ifl make really fun dials its a bit of fresh air if you ask me as some one that loves Horror and October and going to Hunted houses and stuff like that loved you videos as always. It's great that they let you keep the watches that is really kind of them.

@@watchpapi thanks! I got a sweet little 37mm, manual wind Type A dial with a sandblasted case. It's my new "dress tool watch" haha. Also, in downtown Berlin I had the opportunity to see a lot of high end watches in person and compare them in hand. In particular JLC, ALS, and Patek. Per our last convo I'll admit that JLC was quite plain and almost boring compared to Patek and ALS. JLC still deserves some top praise for their history as the watch makers watch maker but I'll admit they were a cut below the likes of Patek and ALS. ALS did blow me away and personally I liked them the best over Patek. Still my unpopular opinion! Haha

I have more than a few Seiko watches, including a few 5s. It seems to me that all of them with a day of the week complication are bilingual. My oldest one is English & Arabic, but I also have English & French and a few English & Japanese Kanji. All my JDM Seiko have Kanji days.

What does the used market look like for IFL watches? This is one of those wear it once show it off to your friends and kick it down the road type watches. If it could fetch $800 used on a $1,000 buy in that's a fun purchase.

Usually, Seiko 5 is not for me as i feel it's a washed down version of the SKX. These mods however are the real deal! They look really cool and the packaging is over the moon. They don't call watch modding a rabbit hole for no reason... Btw, about your hairstyle: i loved the open hair under that green cap right after you returned from Canada. 👍👍

Neat idea but yikes the price. All the Seikos I have with the day window have two different languages. Thank you for clarifying that the monster in the original book and movies has no name. Frankenstein is the name of the scientist, not the monster.
