Talk about zero ingenuity! But I guess it's their right, as it's their design. Seiko introduced two new watches based on the old Seiko "Fifty-Fathoms" but there really was no ingenuity or design change. Just a slap and sell job.

I thought the reference would be they had improved it, like an Ali Express watch. Aka adding a proper bracelet, screw down crown and sapphire crystal 😊

I don't mind that new "Fifty-Fathoms" Seiko 5, but I'd prefer if the Islander version if there was one, because it would have a better bracelet, screw down crown, and sapphire crystal.

I commented on Jody’s Channel stating I must be a sheep because I literally like every reissue Seiko puts out. But that Presage is WAY better. But come on Seiko. I get that you don’t put sapphire on your sub $400, but this one is nearly $600. Oh well. Thanks for showing them to us and as always, the most honest man in the watch game, Marc. 👍🏼

It also has hollow end links and a flimsy clasp and a fixed bezel designed like a ratcheting bezel. It’s so frustrating.

seconds ago I'm a Seiko fanboy too but the glory days are gone. They are pulling AlI Express tricks but not Ali prices. I haven't bought a Seiko in a while and I only look at Prospex models with a good discount now. I gave up on Seiko 5 ages ago. Orient and Citizen both are beating them in the 5 price range.

I always liked that weekends were differentiated from the weekdays by blue and red. I wish all watch manufacturers would incorporate this feature.

If you get one of the Seiko watches intended for the Arabian peninsula market, the Fridays are actually in red in English and Arabic

I am utterly annoyed by the Seiko 5KX case (they use it for collaborations left, right and centre). That's why I stay away from that line as far as possible. I am only in one single segment of seiko. And that's the Prospex line and am very comfortable there.

Really like that Greenport. Being from Long Island we used to go to Claudio’s in Greenport 2 or 3 times a summer. May have to pick one up when money isn’t so tight.

Beautiful watches. I own several Seiko watches (old and new and mostly higher end ones) but to be honest these days.... I MUCH RATHER BUY AN ISLANDER (own several) . Clearly they much better values and the quality equal. Thank you Marc,

I just got the SRPK97. I love the original but the originals are now around $400 Australian in my market on grey sites. I got my new one for $399AUD from my favourite local online AD, so for the same price I’d rather the new one with the better movement and support ADs rather than grey market when I can!

I have heard you say a few time in different videos that presage never go on sale but they do everywhere else in the world so why not in your store? Got a few presage watches in the collection and they all were bought at around 50% off rrp. Just seems odd you don't.

Thanks for the video. Nice case design. I extremely dislike the triangular hands they insist on putting on so many of their higher end watches. Alpha style hands would even be an improvement. Still admire many of their other designs. When I think dive watch, I think Rolex or Seiko.

Lol I disagree. Seiko prices have ballooned since KZfaq reviewers became so popular. AliExpress has some great watch companies like San Martin, Cronos and Baltany. However, San Martin prices have steadily crept up. Great video btw 👍

This style of 'sword' hand I think is much much more legibile than the standard skx/turtle hand style (probably better lume than the too-narrow-arrow). Nice looking design...another huge watch. This in 34-38mm at 10mm thick would be nice.

I guess I don't care that it's an Aliexpress-type homage. The Fifty Fathoms type of hands and indices are so beautiful, functional and graceful, they should be copied more often. It's infuriating to me that the less aesthetic Submariner style hands/indices is what you see everywhere.

Im sorry but the old one looks better. The date window seems less cramped and aligned. I am sure it is a great watch but like I said on Miguel's channel, I just don't think Seiko brings enough to the table to justify the price on these.

I've got 2 Snzh's the blue & the black/gold, l fine with them not having a better glass and bracelet as they are such good looking watches and l am sure l didn't pay much more than £200, the pricing hike for this is a joke.

If my Grand Seiko's are anything to guy by then Seiko's lume just isn't as good as It once was. My SBGX117 (8 years old) outshines any watch I've every had and glows all night, a beautiful dark green. My two year old SBGX339's lume pales in comparison, it's not even as good a some of my much less expensive watches, very dissapointed with it. Maybe they've changed the formula or how much they apply, they are also different shades of green.

Inspite of the comment of Seiko's "laziness" or "cash grab" attitude, I favor the new Seiko 5 over the FFF model because it. is more original than the later though I can't scape the fact I'm gravitated towards the Seiko FFF for its over all aesthetics.Yeah watch enthusiast's issues, I know.

Seiko has lost the plot. They're basically just mall watches, now. The days of making good value proposition watches for enthusiasts are long gone. There's really no reason to bother with them, now.
