I had already ordered this before the video, and am also a drummer. Love the watch. Only one major feature missing for us musicians: I wish the metronome also vibrated! I can't exactly hear the metronome OR see it moving while I'm drumming. Vibration of the metronome function while attached to the wrist would have been the perfect feature.

@@ClubBlau Agree, if it had haptic feedback it would be perfect. Once upon a time I though about getting the Soundbrenner Pulse (or Core) but it is a bit larger and not as elegant as this.

Where did you order from? The Seiko website listed in previous video says it does not ship internationally?

The hertz thing is for tuning. You can't tell a difference just hearing those frequencies but when you get within a few hertz of the right note, you can hear how close you are. This is an awesome watch I didn't know existed, and I bought one. Seiko owes you money and should have sponsored your video here.

I’m going to guess that from this and your previous video, you have single-handedly helped sell out all the Standard Line Monotone versions on eBay .. for now. Well done! 😊 I managed to snag a new one from a Japanese eBayer though! It is an amazing timepiece, and I’d like to thank you for the two videos, and the KZfaq algorithm that dropped it my queue 🤓

No problem. Oddly enough it seems like the number of these on eBay has actually multiplied in the past few weeks, and the price has trended down. I think more importers are aware of the interest and buying up every model they can.

Thanks for the addendum! Two minutes of practice a day is definitely too little… When I buy this watch, the battery will go in… 4 months tops! All the same, super cool watch! It kind of reminds me of some Nomos models. Thanks for the review and all the precious data on the battery and tuning notes. Bb instrument players will be glad to know there’s a Bb to tune to! You have to do a good job showing the watch off in the video to get viewers hyped and you even went out of your way to address details you missed in the first video - the watch may be cool but you totally rock man! Keep up the good work!

Great update. Still like the watch but wish it was a bit larger. I like that the sound appears to be loud enough to hear in a moderately busy room.

I bought a 90’s STORM watch. Just an odd watch. Not a watch person but I enjoy a nice great looking unique watch or with weird features. Not looking to spend 1000s but a few hundred for something different, I would watch reviews like that

I stopped halfway through the the original post to watch this. The tone generator to me is worthless, but the metronome as a tech is appealing and handy.

just was curious if its normal that it comes with a physical manual, or maybe applicable to specific models ? been checking on ebay with several sellers and they keep telling me the manual is only an online download.... 😑

All the other 'SMW' models seem to be available easily for under 200 on eBay. This video has reached a massive audience, I think a ton of people have picked this up. I would keep looking and be patient.

The official website is linked in the previous video, but does not ship internationally. You will find genuine new ones from eBay sellers in Japan. Alas, there is the usual mark up, plus shipping and then whatever you may need to pay for import duty.

Really wanted this watch, but the website says that you can’t change the battery yourself. You said it is easy to do. Can any watch store fix it? Don’t want to be buying a watch that is doomed after 2 years ahah

While you *can* change a battery yourself, I'd think for most people you're better off going to a jeweler and paying a few bucks.

@Simon The main problem is removing the case back, you need tools for that. Battery is the easy part. If you just attempt to pry it off by yourself it will leave marks. Any watchmaker will have the tools and he will also test the watch for water resistance (if it's supposed to be resistant).

Only sold in Japan, made by Seiko Instruments. I had to buy mine on eBay. I don't think it's a high volume item, probably only meant as a niche product.

Is it water resistant?

The back just says 'Water Resistant' which means you are safe from rain or washing your hands. But I wouldn't swim with it. Strap is leather so you wouldn't swim anyways.
