These Seikos have an impressive heritage of horological innovation and were also the chosen tool of a bona fide spaceman, yet the “Pogues” have somehow managed to remain somewhat in obscurity to many casual watch collectors. The “Pogue” Chronos combine technical excellence, historical significance, and a wonderfully tough and specifically ‘70s aesthetic in a way that’s tough to beat, and particularly so for the relatively modest prices they still command! Ahh I miss getting these in mint condition at USD 70 early 2000s. Good times. Years later I managed to dispose my Seiko chronos at hype and acquire a grail springdrive.

Craft & Tailored - this was a great effort, but your video is strewn with errors unfortunately: 1 - Colonel Pogue owned a 6139-6005, not a 6002 2 - Your pricing is correct for Pogue in poor condition, but mint ones regularly get over $1k 3 - You misspelled it "Pouge," it should be Pogue 4 - The True Pogue has other unique things that set it apart from others like it, not just the Water 70 Resist 5 - The Pogue you have in the video has a fake bezel on it

There is one big thing holding back the value. The spare parts for every part of this watch. Consumers don't know if they're getting an original or something that has been restored. Sellers are not transparent about it as they're riding the gravy train. But this causes a stopping point for the increase in what people are willing to pay IMHO.

Your estimated prices for these pieces are off. Prices have sky rocketed. Sure you can always find a beaten up example but to find an example that is in good condition -!: that actually matches the same reference as Mr Pogue is fetching some damn coin. Let me down on the lack of info in these videos

A few mistakes in this video: a real SEIKO Pogue 6139-6005 has a ""Water 70M RESIST"" dial #MoonwatchUniverse 🧐 It wasn't the first automatic chronograph in space as Skylab-4 Commander Gerald Carr also wore an automatic chronograph: Movado Datachron HS360 automatic caliber 319 El Primero

Correct on the identifying markers of a true pogue but Carr’s Movado was snuck onto the same Skylab mission as Pogue’s seiko. So it’s fair to refer to either the seiko or the movado as the first auto chronograph in space as they were both there at the same time.

Can you give any insight into the "black" dial pogues? All I ever hear about are blue, gold and the rare silver. But there are clearly black dials out there. Not blue at all, they're definitely black. What's up with those?

Nice video. I still own a Dec 1975 Seiko Pogue (I am the original owner). It has been my everyday watch for 47 years. My parents gave me the watch when I graduated from the 8th grade. Today I am a dentist, who has practiced for 32 years. I always took care of it (kept it away from water, and shock to the movement), and it is still all original, including the bracelet. You really to do your research before you continue... You're making an ass of yourself... Let's start with the wrong model number.And then there's no text at the 9 o'clock.Don't put any more videos out til you figure out how to do it correctly and accurately
