Yes, this process is seemingly a big PITA the first time doing so, and I too lost a collar on the first attempt; they are extremely tiny, so pay attention! It’s actually pretty easy once you get the hang of it - when reinstalling I used a small pair of needle nose pliers to get the collar in position. Initially I couldn’t figure out how to press the collar back on to the pin since my pusher was too skinny, and would slide right back inside the collar. I ended up cutting the tip off and filed the end of a small finish nail that fit perfectly, allowing me to press the collar back in place. Good luck!

I have since lost quite a lot of collars and now I have tons of confidence resizing a Seiko bracelet 😂. It's a bit annoying when they don't sell these collars online 😑

I HATE those damn pins! The other day, I was clearing off my desk, and lo and behold, a missing collar had reappeared! If a Seiko dive watch does not fit, guess what? It gets a NATO strap!

Good job on a difficult task it’s really not that hard but you definitely have to pay attention to details and lots of patience. I sized my Seiko Sumo and also my Orient Mforce Bravo. The first time is challenging but after that pretty easy.

Thank you! I was having trouble with the collar pin. None of the tools I was using were the right width to stay inside the the main hole but outside the collar pin. The ball point pen trick and a little wiggling worked great.

Well, I'm kind of used to the pin and collar system by now. Having said that, screws should be a standard for all watch bracelets on Seikos. Since they've increased their price, why not better design right? Thanks for watching 😎

I’ve just been through this agonising process myself. It is extraordinary that Seiko puts people through this process, surely they could come up with a better system; you can’t even tell if the pin has properly engaged with the collar, your watch might fall off while you’re diving. Completely ridiculous and frustrating system. Just use screws and charge a few pounds extra.

Well, when I was in Japan, one Seiko dealer showed me a simple jig used to resize the bracelet in just a few minutes. When I asked, where did they got it from, it's not available for sale to the public. So yeah, we're pretty much have to rely on skills and luck😅. I've since lost so many of those tiny collars and have no idea how to get a replacement. Lucky for me, most of my Seikos are keepers. Anyways, thanks for watching 👍

You mean it got stuck during the process of pushing the pin, or if the collar is originally there?

It's an awful design that nearly no Jewelers are familiar with adjusting. I bought a nice Seiko turtle at JCPenney and the jeweler who was attempting to adjust it literally destroyed the bracelet. Since then I've been to other high-end jewelry stores that simply do not have the expertise on how to fix this or adjust it. It's very proprietary to Seiko and maybe Omega. Because of this awful design and the inability to get it adjusted properly I will probably never purchase another Seiko watch

Hello there Timothy. I don't think it would be the same experience if you bought it from a Seiko boutique. I bought my Seiko Turtle here in Malaysia and they've managed to resize the bracelet. The same goes when I bought another Seiko at their outlet in Japan, they have a special tool for this job. It the end, it's about using the proper tools and a bit of experience I think. Anyway, thanks for watching!

@@NMwatch Here the prices are very different between stores. From a Seiko dealer the watch SRP775 Turtle would cost $525 USD and from a large chain store like JCPenney it was only $196 USD

Mark Mangus Mine made a complete hash of it, which resulted in me nearly losing my watch within 24 hours of owning it. To be honest I find seiko bracelets a pain in the backside, and generally swap out with Strapcode.
