I think it'd be easy. due to the tension of the situation. it's too serious for you to let your guard down. but the main actors really are just enjoying themself because they don't feel all that pressure.

John O'Hurley as J. Peterman is one of the best castings I can think of in all the TV shows I've watched. I can just imagine his serious delivery of ridiculous lines regularly cracking people up during shooting. And Julia was known for being a bit of a giggle factory if she got started (see the plane tickets scene where Jerry actually says, "There's no point in going on. Julia's laughing. ... Go ahead, waste everyone's time!").

Was the funeral scene filmed in front of an audience? I know a lot of audience sitcoms have scenes pre-filmed and shown back to the audience to record laughter, applause, etc. I figure Jerry's apt & the diner were permanent sets but I can't guess how many "swing sets" were built for each episode.

Of all the different contributions to “Seinfeld,” the best work of all is the casting of characters who joined the foursome. Memorable characters - one after the other - would absolutely dominate an episode and leave us in the audience loving them all! So many went on to projects of their own in the years ahead. That scene in the police station is so funny and you’re right the outtakes are even funnier. Anyways I was just noting that you left out "full body" from the description. And it was George, not Jerry who said it. When Elaine was dancing, George remarked "SWEET FANCY MOSES!" Then, in the next scene George is in Jerry's apartment. Jerry asks "She danced?!" George replies "More like a full body dry heave set to music."

I think she's just trying to hold character. I love binging sitcom bloopers and that seems to be a trend - I guess the extras and more minor character actors are way more worried that breaking character (even if the stars do) makes them unprofessional, since they're seen as more "expendable." also this lady's character in particular was kind of a bitch lol. but yeah, they probably don't enjoy having to sit there staying in character while the others cut up because they know they won't be fired.

I don't know if there's anything to do with it but Julia is the actor who breaks the most and she always had a pretty comfortable money situation compared to Jerry, George and Michael, to say the least... extras not so much, most of the time they are broke like Jerry or George in the beginning.
