You should try to demo these on your lap. You lose about 2/3 of the sound to the table below it. They fit nicely on a snare drum stand, but a solid bottom completely mutes them.

It would be nice to get more deep into the origins of this instrument, full of cool peculiarities: from the original patented alloy used to the weird selling and reselling model. I guess it wouldn't be received very positively by this manufacturer to get that deep.

Hi I just purchased the Sela D Amara 9 note. I love it, but I notice the C4 note rings out alot, so sometimes when I am playing it that sound ringing out sound will affect the other notes I play right after that, which is a little annoying. Is this normal? Thanks

You should not play it on the wooden stand. It flattens out the sound and if you hold it on your lap it sounds way better :)

Hello, Ary! The hand pans can be delicate in tone while also harmonically rich. You will want a fairly transparent microphone with a full frequency response. My go-to would be any small diaphragm condenser mic. Why are handpans so expensive? I remember when the original hangs from switzerland came out and they were around 500 each, which make me think that these are supremely overpriced. Don’t get me wrong. I love the tone and scales, but these Ones are actually on the cheap side for a handpan(1900). Pantheon were charging 3500 for one drum for awhile which is completely outrageous. I would say a thousand would be a fair price. Anyways! Thanks Sweetwater

By the way, the Pantheon Steel instruments right now are amongst the finest in the world. They’re incredible and well worth the money. I just picked up a stainless steel Halo Plus and it’s the finest Pantheon Instrument I’ve played. I’ve played 100’s of Pantheon Steel Halos over the years. There’s room in these markets for all of these makers at different price ranges, as there are with guitars, synths, etc.

These seem like the steel is too thick. Sounds like he has to hit hard to get it to sound. I have a spacedrum and literally a light touch rings out without any of the persuasiveness. I'd love to test these, I could be wrong.

Piano was mixed too loud on the Hijaz. Otherwise, it sounds good.

Unfortunately you can buy a very nice drumkit for the price of just one pan, but the sound is gorgeous

Better buy these instruments from as local possible but reputable builder. One little bump and they are out of tune. You dont want to send them back to sweetwater and sweetwater back to the maker and from the maker back to sweetwater and then back to you.

(1) they are NOT a drum (2) maybe some lessons will help you play these instruments (3) never heard of this "maker???" and (3) I've never seen one play on a table before but then again you don't look like you're a handpan player. Anyway...I hope they are well below $1000 for this thing.
