Teemu Selanne's new memoir, My Life, comes out on Tuesday and the Finnish Flash joined Gino Reda to reflect on his journey to the NHL, discuss the hurdles he had to overcome, the advice he shared with Patrik Laine, what it was like to be traded from the Jets, who he thinks the best player in the NHL is right now and much more.

Teemu is a class act... I met him on Sunday at his book signing and he took time for each person who had waited for him in the bookstore, he put in over 6 hours of signing books for us all in Winnipeg... and his conduct on and off the ice made me love NHL hockey.. so sad that we had to lose him and I don't think there's a person anywhere in Winnipeg or this province who wouldn't have given our eyeteeth to keep him if we could have...

Well said. Teemu is a real gentleman and a wonderful person. We loved him in Winnipeg when he was with and we (secretly) cheered for him when he moved on.

Even though I don't watch that much hockey anymore, one stat I can never forget is Selanne and Mogilny both scoring 76 goals in 92-93. Amazing. Both great players. Also Selanne's second wind after bombing in Colorado was a great comeback.

He is such a positive person, but hearing that he supported Donald Trump - even though I don't think he even has US citizenship - did lower my opinion of him considerably. I'm Finnish, so I still appreciate what he did and continues do to for hockey in this country, but he should've kept those thoughts to himself I think.

Clinton was not the answer either, but to support Trump is simply dumb. It´s not a surprise every right or brown wing with nazi roots like Sverigedemokraterna and Perussuomalaiset was cheering for Trump.

@@roopekanerva5606 You're right, especially when we see people like Raimo here yelling at the clouds. Continuing to educate oneself is required for a democracy to function well. But on your Clinton point, even though I think we can debate whether she was "the answer" or not, politics and voting in democratic elections unfortunately often comes down to choosing between the lesser of two evils, and so I would not have hesitated to vote for Hillary if I were American. This was probably my longest comment on KZfaq.

@AI Martins Guys like you crack me up. Name one goal scoring record that Wayne Gretzky doesn't own. He never gets the credit for how many goals he scored. When people say it was easier to score back then, Mario played then,Brett Hulll played then,Mike bossy played then, nobody scored more goals than Gretzky yet he never gets credit.

Cool that Jagr got mentioned, he *is* crazy lol. He still scores like a point per game even still in 2019-20 back home. It's great to follow his career, something I've done since the mid 90s.

Scored 48 goals at age 36. Most forwards washed up today age 32. Only 4 players scored 40 goals past age 35
