In this video, we are showing how to dynamically filter table based on column position or text input using Power Query M Language.
This approach can be used when the column names you need to filter upon often change or you wish to filter column names based on parameters.

Thanks so much, this is so clear and easy to follow - I've over 35,000 investment securities each with 3 separate unique identifiers and the team never know which identifier type we'll be given by our clients. The tutorial has allowed me to build a query that extracts the data no matter which identifier we've been given.

Another great video. You always do interesting manual coding that changes the way I look at Power Query. At 3:23, are you saying that the underscore variable always returns the current row in record format? I don't know why there isn't more documentation on that feature.

Thank you! Yes, the underscore returns a record value. You can check it out by adding a custom column with the underscore value. Formula = Table.AddColumn(Source, "Each record", each _)

Very helpful video. I wonder if there is a way to create a Custom column where you test the value of the second column (just using the position). Then, If the condition is true, we put 1, otherwise 0.
