I learn something new from you almost everytime I watch your videos... and I never knew you could eat red bud blossoms.. oh I can hardly wait for spring now... that's right... I have a "red bud"..

My mum used to make “frittata” with black locust flowers. They are best when in bud before they fully open.

A little trick I learned years ago. Lay you shovel flat across the hole with the tree, scrub or plant in the hole. Good way to check the level. 🌲🌱🌸

Just planted five maples (three autumn blaze and two crimson king), two dogwoods krossos and a red bud. We have three almost bare acres. Our dogwoods have those berries now. Hmm, maybe I'll eat a few. Thanks for the video.

I have a lot of trees in my garden. I love the oak tree which I named Might Oak. I planted a fruit tree and I love the promise of getting fruit in a few years. Thank you for the information. I just purchased a bare-root star magnolia tree from Arbor Day and I am waiting on it to come at the proper time for my zone 7b! I'm so excited! Thanks for your tips!!! I love fall and winter here in the South. I'm so thankful the heat & humidity has gone away for a few months. 🎉🍁🍂

Fall is a great time in Florida to plants trees. We just planted 10 black diamond crape myrtles 💚💚 your dogwoods will be magnificent!! Thanks for all the inspiration and education! I’m about to plant an eastern redbud... thanks for the advice as it arrived just in time! I picked this tree because it helps our native pollinators like mason bees.

We have very heavy rain. I plant mine a bit above ground level and mound the soil. Then, when it inevitably sinks, I'm good. This also helps prevent plant drowning.

Smaller, younger plants get established more quickly, and as a result will outgrow larger, older plants.

Watching a British landscaping show, they recommend making a square hole which helps tree roots to spread out vs. winding around in a circle that could girdle the tree.

As for staking, they recommend staking very low so the top's movement helps strengthen the root structure.

I’ve heard several of the maple species are extremely invasive though. Unlike the Elongata Paulownia super fast growing trees which you haven’t ever spoken about.

My maple is gorgeous green in summer, by fall every last leaf is gone before it turns any color.

Are there any Maples that don’t put out surface roots? I would like to plant one. I’m in zone 7a with heavy clay soil. I grew up in PA and we had a red maple and silver maple but they both had roots above the soil.

Are there ways to find out how much space and separation each tree should have from one another? I live in MN and am looking to plant some Evergreens. Any suggestions would be great!

I have an American variety of White Dogwood (established & in-ground). Could you please remind me which strength & mixture of fertilizer I should use in the Winter? If possible, could you recommend particular band or brands to use as well? Thank you.

It looked like you did plant the dogwood tree a bit deep. Be sure to tell everyone voted to volcano mulch.

We just paid to have balled River Birch planted. Costs more than the trees with delivery ect.. My disappointment in learning the hole was not much bigger than the ball makes me ill. Is this a bad thing? Should we expect less success? :/
