Us descendants of those who never left Texas are not "half" Latin American even if I hate the term Latino. We were here first as Native peoples then catholicization happened. Never immigrated.

The black guy performing with her unfortunately passed away a few years ago. He was as far as I know the only non Mexican person in her band but he knew the language which was a leg up for him. This was in February 1995. Literally almost a month before she was murdered

Selena introduced a whole genre of music to the rest of America, and the rest of the world. Selena is the only female artist in musical history to have 5 albums chart at the same time, which means it's an achievement that no other woman in WORLD history can claim. It doesn't get bigger than that. Achievements like that go beyond both album sales and career length.

She was so humble she didn't believe just how big she was 😔 she would often tell her dad that she was worried that nobody would show up to her concerts can you believe that 😅 she had no idea the mega star she really was already 😪 RIP QUEEN 🌹

Selena hasn’t been surpassed, dethroned, replaced, she’s one of those true Artist you only get once in a blue moon. A lot would agree, Selena’s has never had competition while she was alive or even now 26! Years after her death she’s in her own lane, simply irreplaceable & her uniqueness to her amazing talent cannot be duplicated.The astrodome was one of her many big concerts but only because it was unheard of, of a young Hispanic girl from the barrio selling out world’s famous Houston Astrodome, where some of the most famous sports teams, bands, & artist of the 20th century played/performed. In the U.S she wouldn’t be booked for huge avenues that often, instead she would mostly perform in coliseums theaters, outdoors etc but in Mexico & in Central America she would have her more massive concerts especially in Mexico, crowds from 90-100,000 people!

It makes me emotional to this day how much Selena is loved and respected...all over the world!!! She should still be here with us. She would be doing the Super Bowl Halftime Show, runway shows in Europe for her fashion line and have 10 more multi platinum albums both in English and Spanish. Such an amazing woman who will live on forever in her music, fashion and of course that classic biopic of her life that launched Jennifer Lopez’s career.

Selena is the BIGGEST Mexican American artist in HISTORY. She is still relevant until this day. Selena set the platform for all these new upcoming Latin artists. I got to see Selena many times in concert and I was fortunate enough to see Selena at this Houston Astrodome concert back in February 1995. I was 15 years old. I grew up in Corpus which was Selena’s hometown. We still love her and miss her until this day. Thanks for the reaction video. Continue to remember Selena always. #BrownPride#

Houston in the house, She was born not to far from Houston ( lake Jackson) 50 minutes away from my home, I actually live and work 10 minutes away from the astrodome and I pass by it everyday and every time I pass by I remember her, she is one of the greatest Latin artist. I heard Cardi B broke Selenas record of most attended. Look up "Cardi B sings Como la flor." My parents were from Dallas. Actually Tupac Shakur sampled her voice and used it for some of his songs and then after his death it was used again to remix both of them and it was amazing there's been so many artists that have used her voice for their hip-hop songs it's amazing
