Don't get me wrong, she's no Whitney, Mariah, Fitzgerald, Garland, Jackson, Dion, Turner, Franklin . . . you get the picture. She won't be a legend. Once this part of history fades into the past, she will be forgotten like The Murmaids. If you are thinking 'who is that?' exactly. They are from the 60's and 50+ years later only people alive at the time have a clue who they are (oh and me). However, it was so hyped as being the worst performance that many had ever heard, that when I heard it, at least at the begining, it really didn't seem the worst thing ever. Though when that is the best complement one can think to give someone about their performance "it really didn't seem the worst thing ever," it begs the question, why is this person a famous singer? Youngsters are really used to autotune and I think a lot have no clue that there are people who can sing without all that BS. These people exists, because producers saw an opportunity to make money and they are fine with constructing the image of talent as long as it rakes in the dough.

when she was singing the bridge (the whole part with "no one compares, you stand alone") she couldn't hit those notes and her voice fell flat. that was really the worst part of the performance; otherwise she was just very monotonous. however, selena has improved over the years, even though her voice is generally still subpar at best.

of course you can point out the fact that a person can or cannot sing well. if a person cannot stay on pitch or stay on beat then they cannot sing well! That is just a fact. If a person can't play any chords or scales on a guitar then they can't play guitar. that is just another fact. Whether you like something or not is a matter of opinion. whether somebody is singing on key from a technical standpoint is a fact. A fact is something that can be measured or proven. There are lots of times in this video that Selena was off pitch. That's not my opinion. That is a fact. if you enjoyed the performance , you are entitled to that. but, unless you are tone deaf you have to admit that a lot of times she was way off pitch. which is a FACT!

Guys she is just nervous. She was trying to put on a show and make it entering so she was dancing while singing and it was making her out of breath. She still did amazing. And she sings like an angle. Where is your humanity? Why is this channel trying to bring her down and look bad? She is human like everyone else. She is always targeted just because she is famous. Idk if anyone noticed but if you listen to the song you'd know that around 2:35 she's suppose to hit a hight note. Instead of hitting said high note she proceeded to sing the chorus again. I'm not trying to be mean but she knows she can't sing, at least not live. She doesn't even seem to trust herself to hit a simple high note.

I like her voice, but back then she had a bad technique to sing. Now she has improved very much. Her vocals are more powerful now. Back then she was forcing her voice to be higher, I feel like she wanted to do high notes so bad, but her authentic voice is quite deep.
