It was a grim tradjedy that should have never happened. Yes is the bullet was off a bit she'd still be alive, and also if it wasn't against her religion she would have lived with blood transfusion but her dad opposed it. I think Selena's husband Chris should have had the say about the blood transfusion, I believe Selena would still be here...

She didn't get the chance. She was able to walk into stores and not be recognized at the time of her death. She hadn't hit main stream yet. She was in a car lot at the same time my aunt was working and no one knew who she was ..this was about 7 weeks before she passes. She talked about valentiens days plans with a salemens... she wouldn't have most definitely changed after her English album. She wouldn't have been able to be the same. Just like jlo today

@@lisamb4269Selena possibly would've kept the house, but she and Chris had a 10 acre property, with a 10 room mansion to be built on it, with the farm amenities on it. Chris sold it afterwards because he didn't want to be there if Selena wasn't with him. I don't blame him at all because I'd feel the same way. She always was down to earth, but living on her dream property and dream house wouldn't have changed her character💖💔

My late mom was heavily into the backstage Tejano scene and ran into Selena quite often. When she died, my mother took it really hard and I remember her planting a tree in our backyard in her honor. Three years later, my mom joined Selena in Heaven after a car accident. Seeing you guys cover this story with so much heart and emotion makes me very happy. I always thought white folks never really understood how important she was to the mexican community, but you two have proved me very wrong and I apologize for my ignorance. I know Selena's family would admire and appreciate the respect you're showing her memory.

Oh we understood. When I heard her story after her death (I was in my early teens) and oh that gorgeous voice...I knew how big of a star she was becoming at the time. That made it all the more tragic because of her influence to both the community that already knew her and these new set of fans who never got to experience her light and joy. If a white guy from a small town could get touched by her voice then I can only imagine how the Tejano community felt when she was taken so young. Because I can't hear her story and listen to one of her songs without it pulling at my heart. Btw rest in peace to your momma as well as Selena ❤️

She had everything: natural beauty and talent, talented family that loved her, a devoted husband that was head-over-heels in love with her (and remains haunted by her ghost to this day), crossover appeal, fashion design career, and a multitude of fans. Her Death hit me So Hard for So long it was Weird because I wasn't that type of fan... I mean I didn't know her for being famous like that I liked her music... She had to have been part angel or something, because her passing impacted so many people on a surprisingly deep level - including me. Even after all these years, as you both said in the video, its sometimes hard to listen to her music because it starts becoming overwhelming emotionally. She was really amazing.

I’m about the same age as Michael and Jessica and my aunt is Mexican-American so I’m VERY familiar with Selena and her music, having grown up listening to it! This was a great video, and I agree with Michael, to this day, when I hear “Dreaming of You,” straight goosebumps!

Same (as far as getting goosebumps hearing that song). I heard her music after her death and was a teenager when she was killed but never connected her to the song I heard and wondered who sang it. Then I realized that "Dreaming of you" was by Selena, this beautiful, talented young lady who was taken too soon. I watched the bio movie with Jennifer Lopez and still get goosebumps seeing everyone with the candles honoring her. And "Dreaming of You" is still one of my favorite songs by her ❤️ Rest in Peace Selena

It's awful that she was taken so early but for it to happen by the hands of someone who supposedly cared about her makes it so much worse. I can never understand how someone can do something so horrible to someone you supposedly care about. Once again, Michael and Jessica has paid a great tribute to someone amazing. Thank you so much for sharing. And as always Happy Halloween.

I was in middle school when she passed. I remember going into school after and all my fellow students/fans were wearing their Selena shirts and crying in the hallway. I had no idea who she was but I later found out. She was so amazing and when the movie came out, I cried my eyes out. I bought her CD and learned a lot of her songs. What an amazing, talented, brave, down to earth wonderful woman she was and I still get choked up when I hear her music or think about her. Gone way too soon. :( Thank you guys for doing this video.

I feel like she is with me in each & every one of those moments, and I didn’t know her. She was taken from this horrible world when I was only nine, & vaguely remember news reports about her tragic death. But these days, my kiddos & I absolutely love her and the Selena y Los Dinos songs & she brings us much joy! We are die hard Selena fans 💜🤍 this will never change! We love you Selena, I’m absolutely devastated by the way you were taken from this world, and I hope you are resting in peace & love. Thanks for being such a beautiful soul and bringing so much light & love to all your fans.

When she passed my parents insisted on visiting the days inn and her gravesite. I remember every speck of paint had been peeled away from the door frame and all the grass surrounding the original marker was bare from the amount of fans visiting- such was the outpouring of grief over her loss. As a Texan I know many people that met or worked with her, and they all say that she was very genuine and a good soul. Her loss was truly a tragedy. Thank you for being so respectful in your video, not only to Selena’s memory but also to Corpus Christi.

I loved the inserts you put to tell us the next step of her legacy you were showing. This was done so well & although I was saddened I was glad I took the time to watch. Selena was beautiful & just started her life journey. To be taken away so young & never to experience the life her & Chris may have had. I wish I could travel & go to Corpus Christi so, I thank you for an amazing video you shared. I can't believe it will be 30 yrs in 2025 that she has been gone. I grew up near Corpus and was in the city that day for a wedding rehearsal. On the way home we had the radio on listening for Yolanda to surrender. My mom took my sister and I to her grave before they fenced it off. Selena's music was such a bonding experience for us three, because at the time the only Latina representation in the media were maids and the occasional seductress, and Selena was young and talented and looked like me. I'm so homesick watching this, but in a good way. I'm glad you got to visit. I hope Corpus treated you kindly and it was a healing visit.

It's amazing how someone you didn't even know can have such a profound affect on you. I was 10 years old when I heard it on the radio that she had been shot. I didn't really learn more about her and become a fan until the Selena movie came out 2 years later. But I've been a fan ever since! I am now 37, and it's even more profound to me how YOUNG she was when her life was taken. She was a baby, with her entire life to live. I often wonder how she would have evolved as an artist - where she would be today. It's been 28 years, and we all still miss her like this just happened yesterday. Just goes to show that she was indeed, one of a kind. Continue resting, Selena - WE MISS YOU. Thanks for the video.

You all have a real feel for these tribute videos. This was incredibly well done, respectful and moving. And great job on capturing the beauty of Corpus Christi. Easy to forget that not everywhere in Texas is land locked. In addition to the great Selena, I am sure there is some cool Farrah Fawcett stuff-Corpus Christi's other huge star- to be found around town. But I must admit, Selena would be legendary status had she lived. Her business assets would span everything from brick and motor, to movie, tv, record companies, fashion, to pro sports franchises by now. Certainly a billionaire opening huge doors for young woman all over-tragic, tragic, and senseless loss. Talent like that just doesn't come around that often. Awesome job as usual Grimm.
