Could honestly just be distance. Doki is west coast Canada, so anyone on the east coast USA is going to be pushing T8 netcode to its limit.

Doki is a high end Apex legends player, and is used to optomizing her frames well above 100 in most games, and her pc has been steadily declining. Plus on her stream a lot of times the intro animations were chugging hard to near slideshow.

She have semi-stable 58-60 fps *most of the time*, but occational there are huge framerate dips

Because it's a common thing in Tekken 8 but it seems like it was more of a connection issue since Doki's framerate was pretty stable.

Yeah if the bottom right flashes read it means the pc can't handle it. T8 is a very gpu and cpu intensive game

I remember those days too. My first nickname came from playing Quake in a rocket jump arena on dial-up. I was all over the place firing at anyone that would be crazy enough to chase me. Nah it's her PC, Sajam said wifi wasn't allowed during the tourney. Also from experience tekken 8 lags on the other side when another player's device struggles to load all the graphical stuff

Tekken does that sometimes in last hit situations. The game will slow down for a more cinematic shot that builds tension, and from what I can gather hitboxes do slightly change.

Fighting games are the hardest to code net code for. In an FPS a person is on your screen maybe for a few seconds before you or they die. In a fighting game since you have to keep your eyes on a person and they can do 1 of 100 different things at any given time you notice lag way more easily. On top of that, the net code needs to keep both players in perfect sync, which means any sort of frame rate drop translates to lag. Also fighting games tend to be peer to peer rather than server based because it's only two players. This era of FG net code is the best it's ever been but it's got a ways to go.

​@@NormanTran If it's the best, i prefer not imagine what it was before. And I played some indie fighting games that work perfectly. I'm not a programer but i can't believe 1v1 peer to peer is worse than an FPS with like 100 players per game and a giant map...

This game and SF6 netcode is pretty good. If your experiencing bad connections in these games its one of the players internet, distance or the hardware. Alot of people are running these games at settings thier PC can't handle to run consistently or don't update drivers etc. Tekken tells you when thier shit is not working right and on whose side on the bottom of the screen. People cant really blame the game as much in Tekken 8. I mean they can but there is stats to actively show you. SF6 is relatively good aswell. The lag is Doki's PC here its litterally a running gag the entire tournament lmao. It can obviously get better but some of the stuff like this lag? is all Doki. tbh it's kinda funny but still feel bad for her opponents. FG games are really not fun when its laggy.

This game and sf6 have amazing netcode, you have to factor in how dense the information being sent is compared to other games where most elements can be loaded in as you go

She has a new PC. She just hasn't set it up. She took it out of the box

She set it up for tournament day buuuuut that doesn't mean the Canadian internet won't be garbajio

Her chat has been bugging her to set her new PC for a few weeks now 😅
