“Comedians are like strippers” is such a good comparison with social aspect of the job and dynamics and dating. Also you do your performance but there’s more to the job like socializing and building connections and watching other comics perform talking to people at the venue staying for signings and merch and talking to fans etc

About the baby talk..... I'm personally against having kids. BUT. When my friends, family say pregnant I say congrats . My best and her husband constantly argued, were five figures in debt. She tried to commit s*icide twice ended up hospitalized. 3 months later decided that pregnancy was the way to go. took out IUD and got pregnant immediately. I didn't say anything because what was there to say that she didn't already know or already refused to acknowledge? l

My line is always to ask to speak to their manager or supervisor. And there is always someone above whoever you are talking to…so even if they say they are the manager. You say ok, but I need your manager.
