Love it!! 🤍🤍 so important to take care of yourself! I’ve had the same issue of needing to make boundaries for myself when it comes to teaching during my free time. It’s SO easy to take that job home with you!! Good for you for setting those boundaries! 🤍🤍

This is such a great video! Thanks for sharing how you balance work and personal life. You are an amazing teacher and person, and I wish you all the best! As a soon-to-be student teacher, I found this to be so insightful for getting prepared. I'm definitely going to do some of these things next semester.

I completely understand where you’re coming from. I’ve been teaching 10 years, and I’ve had to start taking anxiety meds. I didn’t implement boundaries until this year. I came home and worked all weekend long, planning, creating, and grading. I had no life for a long time. This year I completely changed that. I no longer work when I come home. I no longer work on weekends and I feel like I’m living an entirely different life. I’m so proud that you’ve done this so early in your career. Though you may not feel entirely strong mentally, just know you aren’t alone. You seem to be coping well, and when you aren’t, just remember we are here. Sending love. ❤️

First things first. I want to thank you for what you're doing during these very difficult times. Being a teacher is hard enough but now it's made even more difficult due to the pandemic. I live about 35 miles west of St Louis and we just had a 13 year old boy die from the covid-19 virus. Are you doing both virtual as well as being in front of live students? You truly are an essential worker and you and all the other teachers need to be paid far more than you're getting. It has never made any sense to be that someone putting a bolt in car fender at GM makes twice as much as a teacher that is educating our kids. I'm a retired optician so seeing you wearing glasses isn't at all surprising since many of my patients that I fitted with glasses were teachers. I always used to think that when a teacher received their teaching degree they were also fitted with glasses at the same time. Of course I was wrong about that. Anyway in looking back at your You Tube history it's easy to see that you wear glasses full time. I'm sure that I don't have to tell you that even having good health insurance most people spend at least $150.00 out of pocket for their glasses. I'm sure you probably could find other things to spend that $150.00 or more on other than glasses. Several years before I retired one of my lovely young opticians was told be a patient about several on line glasses sites that offered glasses for pennies on the dollar. Since she wore glasses herself she was very interested and looked at the sites she was told about. She then told all of the other girls in our shop about these sites and soon they were all placing orders for their own glasses from these sites. Being their manager, and friend, I was very skeptical of these sites as to just how accurate the prescriptions would be in their glasses. So I insisted that before any of them started wearing their new glasses they would first allow me to check the prescriptions of their glasses. As it turned out the prescriptions were all very accurate and I also was able to see that the quality of their glasses was really very good as well. I was so impressed that I wrote down the names of 3 sites I liked the best. They were Zeelool, Eye Buy Direct and Zenni Optical. All three have really nice selections of glasses for under $7.00 and that includes single vision lenses in whatever prescription your eyes need. They have hundreds more for under $15.00 as well. Since you wear glasses all the time wouldn't it be nice to have several ore pairs in your prescription to change to from day to day? Your glasses look really cute on you and glasses really suite you very well. But i'm betting you have lots of shoes and hand bags so why only have one pair of glasses? Trust me people are going notice what your wearing on your face way more than your shoes or handbag. I couldn't help but notice in one of your videos you were driving and of course wearing your glasses. But that would seem to mean that you don't have a pair of sunglasses in your prescription or you would have been wearing them instead of you regular glasses. All 3 of these sites can make any pair of regular glasses into sunglasses for only $5.00. It's very very easy to order your own glasses on line by the way. Just for fun you should go on the Zenni site and check out the virtual "try-on" session they offer. You take a nice close up selfie of yourself , without your glasses being on, and then post it and when you click on the different glasses they will instantly appear on your face and it even shows how they look from side angles as well. I hope that you're about to have a wonderful weekend and please please stay safe and healthy.

I’m going back to college to become an elementary school teacher 👩‍🏫❤️. Want to teach kids that being different (I’m disabled) is okay! Plus I have a service dog so I could teach them about that too 🤗

Thanks for sharing. I'm a 2nd year k-4 teacher with 23 students. I recently stopped going to work on Saturday's, didn't go every Saturday but God had showed me that it was taking away from my family time. And there's no guilt here.🙄 I too get my clothes ready for the week and prepare lunches the night before. So much less stress in the mornings and helps keep my anxiety at a low. I love to watch Evelation Church and listen to Elevation Worship. Self care has become a priority in my life; it makes me a better person and can serve with a sweeter attitude. Have the best week possible. Every day is a new beginning and it's because of HIS strength that we all can face the day.

I’m in New York so I don’t have a choice about a masters. They require you get one within 5 years of starting to work as a teacher.

Question!! I love your teaching style and I am a sophomore in college becoming a teacher myself. So I was wondering, if it is okay with my teacher and you of course, could I zoom in to one of your classes for my practicum hours? I need 45 to carry on in school and I would love to watch one of your classes for an hour!

OMG "it's impossible to shut your brain off" YES. This is so hard at night! I literally can't 😂also toootally feel you about the masters. Unfortunately, in Massachusetts we have to get it for our teaching license 😔such a bummer! So much unnecessary money that I could spend on conferences, workshops, etc.

@@emmagracejoens ugh, yes :( we get our initial license for five years, but then to get your professional when your initial expires, you have to have the masters. It's insane to me!

Sincere question - How do you get it all done during contact hours? I'm a first-year, third grade teacher, and I am struggling. I'm new to your channel so it is possible you've answered this before!

I’m a 7th year third grade teacher, and while it’s gotten easier to a certain degree (in the sense that I spend less time out of contract hours), I still haven’t figured out how to get everything done in just contract hours.

I wish we can be paid higher without Masters degree or license. I wish they see us more in to being a good teacher, courageous, and how we work hard. Here in the Philippines for you be able to work on public school, you have to passed your board examination or you have Masters. I know a lot of lazy teachers who are just waiting for pay day without teaching their students properly. Also, you cant be regular to private schools unless you passed the board examination ( LET ). This is actually sad, their basis is only how degree you finished. I wish one day they see or much appreciate the performances of the teachers rather than how high you achieved.
