Love the very moody feeling while waiting for the meals to get done in front of a rainy window. We've been having a drought here recently and there's nothing I want more than to make a good soup and eat it while watching the rain outside.

@@krahser6914 actually no, regular rice still has a lot of water in them, relatively speaking. It is probably dehydrated rice. Dehydration process helps a lot in speed cooking.

I still can't believe self heating instant meals are an actual thing. I remember watching Cowboy Bebop, and Spike opening some cup noodles, and pulling a zip line on the bottom, and it instantly cooked it. I just assumed it was beyond science. There was no way we could have anything like this today, yet here we are.

Self Heating Meals existed even back then. It was developed for military rations but became available for the public to use in the 90s when Beebop was made.

The end lightning was great. It really showed the noodles and the juice and spices so wonderfully. The best I have ever seen. Not that your other videos lightning is not bad but just wanted you to know my opinion about this ending one. Thank you as always.

Those hot pots are always SO spicy! emptied the broth out to try and make it milder once, was 50% whole dried chillis! First time I've had heartburn from them

There are so many Asian foods that I would love to try, lotus root being one of them, I can’t pronounce or spell them without looking at the words or pictures. Although in the US we are getting better Asian ingredients/foods here, but I can’t find everything ingredient wise, or many recipes to follow that are true Asian recipes. I just love you two, love watching the restaurant’s, foods and how cute Miss Smiley is. You have such a fun, relaxing and light hearted channel, I appreciate you letting us into your lives each week! ❤

Just wish that the companies that made MREs for the Canadian and US military would commercialize their products like this, to would help a lot of people in this busy world. I have tasted many a delicious MREs in the Canadian military, just wish for old time sake I could taste them again. Also, would be great for camping, one-day hikes, picnics and so many different activities. I hope you are sharing these hot pots with Ms. B.

where the hell can I get one of these? they look so good and it comes with a heating pouch straight out of an MRE. for the longest time, i never understood this technology not being implemented in a ramen bowl or anything like it, and here it is, and it looks pretty effective. If only you could find a ramen you can just cook by adding water like this.

The heating pouches in these are different to MRE one's.. The ones in an MRE are magnesium based and generate hydrogen gas. The ones in these self heating hotpots are calcium based and are safer.

I got one from the store other day for a camping trip for fun. Pricy as heck but I actually had half a tea egg and some pieces of beef. Definitely quality but for that price, I could have eaten at a restaurant down the street if I was at home. This stuff is at best good for picnics or emergencies. I wouldn't even buy it again for camping, I had a stove, cheaper to just buy ready-to-eat meals and heat it up on a butane stove. The amount of garbage waste these things produce is insane.

I bought one once and felt terrible about all the single use heating packages in the box that I was putting in the landfill. I'm already not doing great for the environment buying a disposable pot of noodle with flavoring packets, but at least that can be offset by using paper, the chemicals in the heater packet are bad news all round

A lil trick I remember from my time in the marines, if your flameless ration heater ever seems to not work, some kneading, and a little bit of salt added with it, will activate it.

I don't think that's the case. I feel like the compound that reacts with water may produce toxic fumes while reacting. In the military rations that use that kind of heating the heat sealed bags with tin foil on the inside so that compound doesn't get mixed in with your food

I disagree. Most food-grade plastic partitions are non-biodegradeable. You will only see the recyclable ones in food like Salad, where no heating is required. This is healthier than cup noodles in the long run, but it doesn't mean it was intended for everyday consumption. Also, correct your spelling, it's "Particles" not "Particals."

Mala was a spell I used to cast in EverQuest as a magician. It was a fire and cold resist debuff, unresistable, and made the creatures more susceptible to magic attack.
