A real Banksy belongs into the very street on the very wall where it's originally painted. For all to see. For free. As it was intended. Banksy's art corresponds always with other objects which are around or at the wall itself. It doesn't make any sense to cut it out - it literally destroys his artwork entirely. A cut-out "Banksy wall" therefore is worth exactly 0,00 £/$/€.

Realistically in 10 years the piece will be worth 800k + , the issue is, they need the money now and not 10 years from now, 240k was an appropriate amount for the piece, their estimate of 300k was probably more than they needed - so, lets hope they hold onto it , or are able to keep it for another 10 years

its the dealers that are greedy, and these guys were right to turn them all down. Supply and demand dictates that this will be worth far more than that in the future, especially after the shredder painting went for over 3 times its estimated price. You can either spot an opportunity or like most people here do 9-5 / 5 days a week and really enjoy the rewards of your toil!!

I used to be a big fan of Banksy till i found out he stole most of his ideas from Blek le rat. If he got inspiration but did something original of his own that would've been great. No problem, but it seems like he steals the design and just puts a quote over it.

I didn’t like what these guy did in the first place. Who gave them the right to sell someone else’s piece? Banksy did it for public and they stole his piece from public to make money. They are bloody thieves.

Well it is their art, they paid a lot of money for it, and they want to make sure they get to appreciate it and also get money out of their efforts and time to get this piece. I'd have taken offers to humour me but I probably would've done the same as these two if I owned that piece. If I missed out on 100k pound I'd still be in love with the fact that I had the opportunity to own an original piece of banksy street art. At the same time, I sort of feel like Banksys street art should be left untouched unless a building is being demolished and guys like these want to save it for a gallary or private sale. The new banksy girl with balloon shredding incident has excited me honestly. He's finally got one of his, if not his most iconic pieces, sold at auction, and made a statement on the value and trading of art. That's why banksy goes out and does "graffiti artistry", he wants the world to have access to this art and give art and political statements through his public pieces. I'm losing it here. He does not want others to sell his work. over time, his work may become a fad and the market drop out. who would have a place for a wall ? in a way, I think Bansky is happy that these guys walked away with nothing. I did a quick google and did not find that this sold, or a price for it. but, I bet the two went to Jeff and took 200 for it. Now, you can buy a print for £22.98+ from Etsy
