So I dug out a 1976 Toro 7/26 Snowblower from beside the garage. It was 10” deep in the ground from sitting. Followed your vids for about a year now. Wife said I’ll never get it to run. Cleaned carb, got spark after setting points correct, got sweet spark and woke up the household lastnight revving her out.

That was the wrong battery for that application too, the correct one needs to have the poles reversed so that they face the cables. They're not designed to be stretched out to the back of the battery and be tightened at a weird angle like he did.

Engineers should have to disassemble and re-assemble their creations to see why they don't design things certain ways. It's funny how when I go to sell anything on the internet, people want to offer 50% of the price, but when I go to buy things, no one wants to come down 50%. I don't even respond to those people any more.

As a nearly gratuated engineer, unfortunately we don’t get to design things based just on how easy they are to take apart and put back together. There’s also looks, size, weight, durability, cost to manufacture etc. If the average customer wanted something that’s easy to disassemble then that’s exactly what companies would still make, because at the end of the day the companies just want to make money.

The repair chain, the logic path were exce..emit as always. I’m not a mechanic, but I have learned a lot by watching. The big take away here is your willingness to admit problems, specifically with integrity of sellers. People in general are honest. But when presented with a vehicle that isn’t right to sell, they sometimes victimize the buyer. Couple that with embarrassment and the whole situation devolves. Instead of centering your video on being screwed, you got to work fixing what you could, thereby cutting your loss of time & money. Way to dig out! I hope you follow through on the $1000 theft. That’s what it is. That guy needs to pay up.

I have the exact pipe & tuner on my raptor 700. The tuner richens in 3 rev ranges. The green is basically idle. The orange light is middle revs & the red is top end. The number it’s on is the amount of fuel it’s adding in that rev range. When you see two of the green orange or red that is a half position. So if you wanna add a bit more fuel in the top end you could set the red light to 3.5 which would be the 3 & 4 blinking. The next set of blinking lights will be the green, orange & red with a blue light. This is the transition point in the rev range. You set it the same way you set the fuel. You have to do it when the bikes running & it takes some practice cuz it will turn the setting mode off rather quick

An easy, simple way to check if the valves are sealing prior to installing the head is to assemble the head & install a spark plug. Then, with the combustion chamber facing up, fill the combustion chamber with water. Shoot some compressed air into the intake and exhaust ports while looking for bubbles in the water. No bubbles = good seal.

I have the hmf tuner on my raptor 700. Basically the same tuner. Mine has 5 settings. Setting 1/green is idle and cruising enrichment, setting 2/orange is mid throttle enrichment, setting 3/red is full throttle enrichment. Setting 4/orange & blue changes the point at which it switches from the idle enrichment to mid throttle enrichment, and setting 5/red & blue changes the point at which it switches between the mid throttle enrichment and full throttle enrichment. Couldn't see where the map change points were, but enrichment looks like 3, 2.5, 3 for low, mid, and high. If a single number is lit, then that's the number, but if 2 are lit next to each other, then it's the .5 between them, for instance if 4&5 were both lit, then the setting would be 4.5 or four and a half.

Rather than just winging it I would prove the valves and seats are perfect by checking they will hold a vacuum before reassembly.

Next time you do valves on a head like this, you always lap them! It’s doesn’t take much, just some compound and spin with your hands with lap tool. When your down clean everything, put the valves & springs in, put the spark plug in backwards & tighten it. Pour a little water in where the valves are seated & spray a little compressed air into the intake & exhaust ports. If you see no bubbles or a worse leak coming through the water, you know they’re seated properly! Never bolt a head down without checking. No sense on doing it twice….✌🏻🏁

Hey Joe You buy and sell a lot of machines, out of all the machines you restored, which machine was the easiest to resell and which was the hardest? Is the hovercraft up there with the hardest?

Loving the content.!! I’m assuming you resell some of your projects. Just curious…how does someone find where you sell your bikes/quads?
