Not 100% positive but I think one thing you can do to protect yourself is on your website have a checkbox for the customer that says "I certify that I own the rights to this image or have permission to reproduce it". Of if you are handing business thru messages just have them state that they own the rights or have permission to print. That way if someone tries to sue you...you are just a printer...and you don't know who owns the rights to the image coming to you and your customer is now responsible for lying and ordering the prints.

I see a lot of trademark copyright merch at flea market all the time.

I think you was good until you let her convince you to put the logos on the shirt. Any body can be called a Laker or Ram. “ SHE” knew she had no case without the logos on shirt.
