Came down to to a difference in quality of goalies 3:42 10:24 Solo stays on her feet longer and reads the play, to get her hand on the ball. The French goalie goes down too early.

@@abbyrainer3312 2 reasons: 1. The Americans defense just stones the French lack of speed and inability to get down the wings. 2. Taking those long shots may be successful in Europe, it will not work against quality defensive skilled teams like England, U.S.A. Etc. The rest of the world will copy the Americans play. The 19 World Cup was proof the Europeans are catching up. As good as the Americans were they had a few difficult matches. Time will tell.

Yes and no. It was an intended cross that had just enough curl to find the inside of far post. Since it was quite close to being a brilliant cross for the header, it froze Solo in place who needed to be ready to protect the near post and center.

Same story in 2019. They play the US tooth and nail but they couldn’t finish. You can’t expect to beat the US if you can not score your goals. France needs a mental strategy when heading into these big games. On paper they should be winning trophies but they are underachievers.

Well no offense to all you soccer fans, but since Meghan Rapinoe started her crap and then the poor sportsmanship displayed by the U.S. team, I root for any team NOT the United States team. As a former professional football player, the lack of sportsmanship ( and I am well aware of the point system) was truly disgusting. I hope they get their asses handed to them. And any organization that will allow one of their employees as Rapinoe is, to kneel during the national anthem, especially in international competition should be ashamed. I will never support this team ever again.
