basically they didnt fully show ego's speech, but he says that japanese team mentality creates great midfielders (like redhead in this episode) and sidebacks who support the team but their strikers choke hard at world cup so they need a new generation of strikers with more ego so that their teamwork actually results in goals.

also the monster part wasnt really good, the monster was supposed to be at the place where he expected his teammate to be so he could pass but his teammate was 2 or 3 steps behind so he can't pass because his teammate was not at the level of the monster that he enivisioned

8:54 Spoiler Alert? In this show, every player qualified to be a Striker has his own type of Ego. Barou's Ego is to 'Rule' the field. Nagi's Ego is 'Curiosity'(?). Chigiri's Ego is to 'Outrun' all others. Rin's Ego is to 'Crush' his brother. (Another Sasuke, huh?) And, Bachira's Ego is to find someone that can match up with his 'Monster'.

I mean think of it this way. At first it was Messi/Ronaldo that were carrying their team. Same principal applies here, the want to create someone greater than Messi/Ronaldo. Someone who can carry their team. Normally yes, a good player with a bad team would normally lose, but its not just a good player, its a great player, a legendary player. That can solo. Yes the roles of other players and teamwork is important, but its a different story if you have one legendary player on your team.

What do you mean by serious, if you mean good then that's an opinion, If you're talking about realism or attention to detail then this show is objectively not one. It is an enjoyable show but by no mean does it have any good footballing knowledge and the way they try to prove the point or message of the show is fine for a show but would never fly in reality.

in the manga he meets with the #9 again, and the dude laughs at what happened before, saying he couldve been as good as isagi if he got in, generally talking shit. keep in mind that isagi had just beat japans football team, scoring the last goal and generally manipulating the match so his team managed to win

@@megatafnan1984 I mean Ao Ashi's manga talked about the world stage. The reason they don't talk about winning the champions league is because it requires smart writing and the introduction of characters, and things of thta nature, such a thing for an intelligent and realistic story would be though since the players aren't really at that level yet, if they were they would be playing in an academy for on of the top j teams or in a different country. Blue lock, has no real concept of realism so them butchering the level of national teams or youth national teams is ok, but a for different story the fans wouldn't really let that fly. Blue lock isn't really geared for football fans, which is okay, so they can fuck around with things like the level of a random player from a highschool being even close to the level of the best youth prospects in the world. A show like ao ashi can't do that, even if for example a better player was beaten it's usually because of timing for goals etc. And not just because some random kid obliterated a too tier talent despite not being as good as him. Blue Lock has it's merits but it can't be compared to realistic shows because of it's choices which are okay, but make the story completely different.

@@xXBL4ZEXx. At best I would put them at the end of top 20. To be considered among the Top national teams there are more than just one step to take. I know its anime (and they are japanese so it all makes sense) but that is a bit too much.

@@xXBL4ZEXx. they achieved a lot due to their offense though, I'd argue they need improvement in other positions so a comeback like Belgium's wasn't possible. They need almost their entire team to be replaced and at least a few guys that are star players in Europe to be able to even be considered viable, at the time they only had one guy who had enough quality to do so, even if by some miracle they beat Belgium, a striker, even if he was Lewandowski wouldn't have been able to save them.

the reason ego says a revolutionary striker needs to be born will be explained more and more as more eps come out in the later manga a character is introduced that embodies ego's philosophy and how it actually fits into a team but that wont be until season 2 or 3
