I used to own a 99 LS1 Corvette, and I came across a guy in an LS1 Firebird and it doesn't take a genius to know what happened, I was in the fast lane against the retaining wall and he was in the lane to my right. we where more or less dead even when we came up on a older Acura in his lane of travel. I remember thinking the Firebird would have to slow down to get around the slower car meaning I would be able to get a gap on him, but that isn't exactly what happened. what actually happened was the Acura with no one in front of him decided to pull into my lane forcing me to slow down, but not only that he started hitting his brakes! I can only imagine he was trying to get me to rear end him for the insurance money, fortunately the brakes on a Corvette are much more powerful then his Acura and I was able to easily avoid him.

Some times it works, some times it don't work. They might wait a month to claim, they might wait a year to claim. The scammer might have seen you have a camera in your truck too. Dash cams are a god send!

You Sir are a professional and did all you could to de-escalate the situation and avoid further issues with that wacko. You never know what people are up to nowadays.

The insurance scammers are out there, be safe....never get out of your truck until the lawman shows up. Most of these idiots will hurt you! Rule of thumb with County Mounties is be respectful, do more listening than talking, Don't argue with a bad driver if you get in a fix. Just ask if other driver is okay then quietly back off. Only talk to the man in blue. Shinny up, rubber down!

Stopping on the interstate is against the law also. You were lucky you didn't get hit from behind. Up in the Chicago area, the scammers come down the entrance ramps, try to cut in front of the semis, to cause a minor collision, and try to collect a quick cash, to avoid calling the cops. My brother in law had this happen to him, but the car timed it wrong, and ended up being pushed sideways down the road. Once the truck stopped, they still just wanted cash, no cops, so he definitely called the cops.

That first episode of truck shaking was probably an earthquake as well. Be careful of the scammers. They're all over the place. One of the most popular is where somebody approaches you at a rest stop and starts talking about a guy a few trucks over who just won the lottery and has a bunch of cash and invites you to come over and watch this guy lose his money in a card or dice game. It's you who ends up losing.

Just another day in the life of trucking - I actually had one case where I was stopped at a red light and a girl passed in the right turn lane then cut hard left so her car scraped the truck rear driver door. I had photo's from my phone just after the collision, no dash cam, and she was actually later charged and convicted for attempted insurance scam. I tip my hat to you, being fairly new at trucking it seems but recognizing the situation and keeping a cool head about it. Great job there. I also tip my hat to all the drivers out there now doing the job I don't think I could do any more. Getting screwed by the brokers, lumpers, CSA scores, electronic logs, I don't know how you guys and gals manage out there now a days, but great job. Yes, even the one's we laugh at for the stupid mistakes they make we see on youtube. I guarantee you this, they don't make those mistakes again.

People who do that should be reported and put in jail. This is a criminal attempt/act in order to deflect property/body harm. In my country people who do this get boxed in or what I called clear path fouled. Basically you cut them of so they get stuck and can’t drive. You drag them out of the car and give slaps to the face and twist their ears. All about teaching a lesson and public humiliation.

It's good that you are showing this video footage. A year ago, I had the exact same situation where I was passed and then the driver cut my bumper off and came to a stop and then started going very slow. I was hauling a heavy lumber load and could've plowed his a** over with my grille guard, but didn't have video on. Just as he gets to the next exit, he throws a 2 liter bottle bomb in a cardboard box at my windshield but it smashes on my fender. This crap is every day happening in Montana. Sometimes they do it so you will stop and they will carjack your load at gunpoint. I've had 2 other situations where they try to box your truck at red lights or cut you off and stop in front and behind and get out. In such situation just try to run them over is the only choice here because there is No Law enforcement and they always have fake plates. Most of these people here are meth addicts and they will kill for their next hit.

I've seen that going down I-95 before with a similar action. Expensive car, fake plates, driver with hat glasses, etc to make it very hard to identify. Found her down the road pulled over after hitting someone else. Glad it wasn't my guys that got hit. Be careful out there.

Hey Mr Rusty, it's B-ez. In my over 30 years on and off as an OTR driver, here's a tip I got from my Older brother who is a 20 plus year vet driver. He told me if you have a sliding 5 wheel, when you first get your truck set it al the way to the back and never move it, you will never have to do anything but slide your tandems from then forward. I swear by it, it's never failed me no matter what truck. Stay safe my friend.

It's not their car that they care about, it's YOUR insurance pays quickly!! Usually, they don't even have to go to court, just get your info for their crappy lawyers, they write/call your insurance company and claim hurting back, broken leg, off work for a year, totaled little cheap car, hit your insurance for $70,000 or more.. And since you are in a BIG truck, BIG money and you typically lose in court because you hit them from behind. All judges love to see good DASH CAMS, your lawyer will love you to bring the recording to him. TIP: buy an extra data card so you can get the recording and pull it pack it for the court, them replace it with the new one for the rest of the time. TWO or three good ones are better than one cheap one. WHEN A LIGHT on the dash comes on, buy a cheap ($60) code reader to plug in and it will give you the error code for the yellow light that is now off but was on. Best way to determine if you need to get anything fixed right now or if it's no biggie.

79 000lbs including the truck? That's what my truck weighs when fully loaded without the trailer. The limit for 90% of the roads here (What the trucks can actually take is a totally different thing) is 140 000 lbs on a 64 ton truck and trailer. I usually haul excavation masses, rocks, gravel and in some cases asphalt. Then I usually have 16 tons on the truck and 20 or 21 tons on the trailer.

Hey, I live in Charlotte and I take Zero Offense to you calling out the BS on the roads in Charlotte...... Stay Safe and that Dash Cam is your best friend in those situations. It is completely unbiased and will not change it's story to fit a situation. Not just Truck Drivers, but anyone that follows the law, a dash to is your indisputable witness.

He claimed he was severely hurt couldn't have sex or work. Findings were his got promoted signs pay raise, and worked out daily. He lost claim. To bad we didn't have a cam then. Unfortunately, I retired after that. But I came out okay. Oh, no kids were on the bus yet. Thanks for the video

If you are owner operator, you can get the full RV/bus camera package installed which records front and rearward on both sides. These are common on newer buses and RVs for checking blind spots for lane changes. The fact you didn't lane change saved you from the scam. The improperly tagged car was definitely watching your ability to stop and would have been very good at trying to avoid a collision. A rearward camera on both sides may have gotten his partner's plates as he caught up to the lead vehicle. If you could have identified him, it would be good to post the full details as the other victim car should be outed for the scam and probably has proper plates.

Those are not Mexicans. They are Salvadorians, Guatemalans and Hondurans. The reason for the Blankets on the windows are because of the heat in America. it is a humid heat. Down in the teopica it is not a humid heat. Therefore they keep the covers in the window to keep the cars cool. They do not run A/Cs even if they work because it takes away 5 orsepower and uses up .001% more fuel. That cuts into thwir bottom line. Not to mention that they also have delivery packages in the back seat to help offset any other expenses. and they do not want any road thief in Mexico to look inside. If you did hit him AT ALL, you would have been blamed. Best thing you can do if you see this happening again is to make sure you have an out. He may have been doing it to retaliate against you for honking to begin with, not sure when you first honked. I had an idiot do that to me in Oakland, CA. The other guy was driving an old Cadillac. His entire car disappeared in front of my hood twice as I locked up my drive axles. He swooped and squatted once, then let off and did a second brake check.

My husband and I were traveling west in Utah. When this older guy in a little convertible. Passed us. Then he slowed so that we'd have to pass. Only to be passed again. Frist we thought something was wrong with the tarps or load. After stopping and checking everything. 5-7 miles up the road was pops. Again the same thing. So my husband slid forward and ask for a pilot cup. He then pissed in it. As pops passed us the 7 time. My husband tossed the cup which laned. On the windshield and inside the topless car. You know pops didn't enjoy our company or something, cause he never passed us again. There's always more than one way to skin a cat. Have a great day.😁

There’s a proposal going around where insurance frauds who attempt to do this on the road is actually giving the drivers the green light to Shoot to kill if you are concealing a firearm.

Lol I’ve had it happen lady hit the gas in reverse she stops in a middle of a road and reverses right into my truck. After I bitched her out I’m like thank god for DriveCam. Usually that camera is on me getting me into trouble Lol. Records everything and the uploads to a company daily. 10 seconds before the trigger and 10 seconds after. It’s either Motor Carrier scam or he was pissed about something. Nobody likes being behind a truck. Although the odds of them getting away with it these days are getting slim. Trucks have too many cameras and sensors. These idiots are asking for jail time. I always try to avoid. But sometimes I’m just like fuck it. When she went into reverse at full throttle I was in reverse my turbo never spooled fast enough to avoid it. So next time I won’t move. I’ll just hit the camera button Incase the hits not hard enough to save the data lol.

Do not ever stop on the highway if someone pulls in front of you and breaks. People driving behind you can slam into you going 65mph and they can die. Keep driving, salm into them put your hazards on and pull over to the shoulder. Do not ever stop on the highway like you did.

OK I see the the antenna light comes on when you key it so yes the SWR is too high. So take the truck to a CB shop and have the Antennas tuned for lowest possible SWR. Its great the radio works. But instead of saying testing... testing... it would be proper to say Hey can I get a radio check? Is this radio working? The other drivers will say yes its working. But yeah dont key down much the antenna light is coming on because the SWR is or antenna needs tuned badly. It will eventually ruin the transistor final if you dont get it tuned. And if it does blow the final no problem have it replaced at a cb tech shop and have the tech install a 2030+ mosfet final and it will sound loud and proud. 2030+ mosfets are great to make your radio really powerful. But you wont need to do that if you wait until you get the antenna tuned. You can say how is the traffic up ahead. Or can I get a smokey report. Or is there bad ice or snow on the roads ahead on this I70 or what every road your on. If you listen sometime they will talk about accidents up ahead or weigh stations I dont know? Helpful stuff like best roads to take or directions you can hear from other drivers helps pass the time too. You can listen to a bunch of mad men on channel 6 the super bowl channel where one guy will try to blow the other guy away with his big radio. Other trucker channels are channel 17 in some places or states they switch back and forth. You can say BREAKER nineteen can I get a Smoky Report? And they will say there is a bear along mile marker 138 or maybe there is a bear west bound on 66 at mile marker 159. Stuff like that. Or there is a local sitting at the quick stop set up his radar trap wait for someone to ticket. One good thing they good for is finding a place to park if its filled up yet or some place to park or good place to poop or eat or shower.

As a trucker I deal with insurance scam drivers but they fail at it because I always keep a safe distance. No matter what they do they cannot fool me because I know the safe requirement distance to be able to stop on time

The plate is a 30-day plate a dealer puts on when you get a vehicle. It has the license number until the real plates come in.
