If anyone is still having trouble with connecting to internet on the PS5 try changing the name of your console for example DM-PS5. Restart your console, forget all the connections and then choose connection you want to be on. This helped me after exhausting whatever else I could think of lol

@@targetcrunch3552 yes hun, go to the playstation settings and then go to console settings, it should say something about a playstation name, change it then restart the ps5 hun. Let me know if it works for you, it worked for my Suns ps5

Just got a PS5 for my son and what a pain! I bought a Series X and it had no issues like this. I finally had to hardline the thing just to get accounts created. After trying so many fixes I got sick of it. I will watch this video later to see if it has any other tips I haven't already tried from other videos online.

@@yx4756 I had to connect it via the ethernet port to get it done. After that, I was able to use the Wi-Fi instead. I never had problems like this with any of my Xboxs

I've got a weird one, pretty sure its my ISP but any ideas i could try but i have tried most of them. Vodafone router firmware updated other day, now ps5 and firestick cant connect, automatically on the ps5 it wont even get an i.p, manually it does, but doesn't connect to the net. rang my isp they have made changed to the setting for me (apparently) so it should now connect, that was couple days ago, still doesnt work. been in contact 3 times now and still doesn't, but when i turn my phone into a hotspot it insta connects perfectly fine, so its my hubs firewall blocking it for sure right? and they just haven't sorted it and are lieing about it..?

I've literally tried everything. Just got it brand new an hour ago. Everyone says i need to get a LAN cable, but i don't have one. It's a ps5. You'd think something like this wouldn't be a problem.

Please help I’ve tried everything on my ps5 and nothing had worked. My WiFi is connected but the internet connection is always saying Failed and I don’t know what to do. For those of you that don’t know, this often happens if too many devices are connected to the same wifi. This tip might help some of you Edit: Plus if you change your PS5 WiFi settings to 2.4GHZ instead of 5GHZ. 5GHZ is faster but less stable, 2.4GHZ isn’t as fast but it’s more stable at keeping its connection

it only happens because the wifi chip or whatever on ps5 sucks u have to use ethernet if you arent able to plug ethernet in because your router is in another room just use a laptop connect via wifi then plug the ethernet in to the ps5 and laptop and share through ur pc. Ive had ps5 since release and its not my wifi because my ps4 works perfect via wifi the ps5 is the worst console from sony when it comes to issues like this ps3 ps4 solid internet no matter what.

Seems like wifi is a big problem with the ps5, I’m in the same room with my phone and get 200 in upload speed when running tests but can’t connect to it with my ps5… it connects to my WiFi but no internet connection?? And it just disconnects mid game?

Normally I get like 20-30 mbit/s on Upload but I get 1,8 upload speed rn I don’t know how it got this bad like when I look on my router (I have a router with a screen) it says 40 MBits upload

Mine will randomly say "Lan Cable Disconnected" then about 3sec later it reconnects. It's driving me insane. Both my ps5 and ps4 pro do that. Both hard wired. Starting to think its possibly my modem idk. I have the option to go ATT Fiber to get away from basic cable if that is the issue. Supposed to get 1gig down and up to 35upload and my upload NEVER has reached even high 20s let alone 35mpbs. Fluctuating and even my hulu live tv will drop resolution like from 1080 down to 480 or even 360 it gets very blocky but clears up. Again I don't know if its the old broadband coax cable just being crappy and fiber will fix all my issues or swap my modem out for a new one which the one I have is relatively new from my isp. Ugh Cox Communications sucks. Att fiber sounding better and better each time I get randomly disconnected from my Madden match or any game and I am hardwired ugh. Sorry for the rant. Never use to have these issues back in the ps3/360 days.

I have green on everything Internet, and PlayStation ✅. I’m on LAN getting 600-800 mbps but when I try to connect to the PlayStation server it says status “unknown” on my online status. I need help I tried clearing my cache and restarting everything including my modem, I also did the dns settings and still nothing is working. The PlayStation and other games are working properly just can’t connect to the PlayStation servers. Help please 😭😭😭

My problem is I cant load content when I listen to music and social game base stuff. Games work fine but I can’t listen to music or do some stuff excluding games because all it says is “Cant load content” I have a spectrum router I fixed it but I forgot now. Edit: I fixed it I had the thing on 2.4 GHz since the router isn’t near me but when I switched to 5 GHz It was faster and everything loaded I guess 2.4 GHz loads slower and mine loaded slow to the point nothing could load properly so I recommend 5 GHz I also set some port forwarding rules to my PS5 don’t know if that will help but Im gonna keep that on. Never mind guys I just turned the PS5 back on it doesn’t work anymore

When i click on custom and select my wifi it automatically says the error code (NW-31297-2) and it doesn't even pop up the custom wifi settings at all

I did a factory reset and try all those methodes and it didn’t work , it sometimes connect to internet but it is too slow and if I switch account the internet is gone , I hate the ps5 wifi technique , I solve it temporarily when I update the router but it is back after 2 days

@@isplicee1284 No , but I found out that my ps5 is only connect to the 5GHz but can’t connect to 2.4GHz at all ( the system is courrpted ) and there is no solution for this I think , because I installed many updates and reset factory the console and nothing fix it

So my issue appears to be none of these. My ps5 seems to lose my ip while keeping the net. And only certain games and apps are affected. We know it isn't the net or router as we got 3 ps5 in the house and I'm the only one having issues.

My internet works on other devices, and my wifi works for my PS5. When i try to run the ps5 internet through LAN, i get a “Can’t Connect to the internet” I want to use my ps5 connected to LAN, i’ve used different cables, same problem. My router ports are good via testing my pc ethernet.

So I have this problem. I can't fix the problem, but I've fixed the problem. I tell the ps5 to disconnect from the internet. Then I tell it to forget the LAN connection. I then restart my ps5. Set up internet and connect to LAN. When I'm done gaming now, I disconnect from the internet, forget LAN, turn off the ps5. I no longer have connection problem. If I don't disconnect and forget, the problem comes back the next time I turn on my ps5. I know this sucks, but it works. I'm not working alot rn and game about 10 hours a day, and I no longer have issues as long as I do this. Also, I've tried all the other software ideas that are listed here and around the internet.

For those of you having problems simple press pause on your wifi, change your wifi frequency bands to 2.4, forget your wifi, reconnect with your password. Boom it works, but it will not let me switch back to 5 without it messing up again so I do not know how long until I can switch back

I just got a ps5 and I’m having this issue I dead ass had it working and the put it in rest mode to download a game and ofc this issue started my regular wifi works perfect but the lan cable has issues ever since then

What I found which is odd and I don’t know why it’s happening my external hard drive disconnects my ps5 from wifi when I plug it in when I unplug it it’s perfectly fine only when it’s plugged in

If this is happening to you, your device (PS5) is most likely paused. Like how my mums paused my console through the Xfinity app so I couldn’t connect to WiFi. As soon as it was unpaused I connected to WiFi easily. I spent one day trying to set up a static ip didn’t work cause I was paused

I just got rid of my series x and s to get two ps5s and I’m having internet issues never knew a ps5 would be so Hard to deal with but I’ll keep trucking along I’ll try these tips but for having them for 24s with issues is 😢

I would think its an issue with your router. Ethernet cables are usually the way to go and they cut down any interference you might be getting through the air with WiFi. There's still a chance you might be getting interference through the cable if you have it running next to any machinery, computers, or power outlets. Other than that the issue is most likely with your router's connection to the internet

Just got my ps5, and it wont connect to my wifi, but it does connect to my mobile hotspot. Then i put the ps5 with a monitor next to the wifi router it still wont connect but it didnt have any problem when i use ethernet connection. So is it my ps5 problem or is it the wifi router.

I just bought my ps5 about an hour ago, I tried to connect to internet but it doesn’t let me connect it says “can’t connect within time limit” I tried restarting everything but nothing seems to work. I’m starting to think that my wifi or AT&T themselves just blocked my console from connecting to internet.

I have error code NW-102379-2. My PS5 will not connect to 5G connection, even when I moved it right next to the router, but it does connect to the 2.4G network and the ethernet cable.
