This is assuming you already have existing customers though when finding data for the personas. How do you create a customer persona for a new business idea?

Imagine that you've built a product and you finally launched it and someone actually bought from you. Focus your attention on that person who bought from you and imagine him/her in detail. What his/her gender? their income? where do they live? what motivated them to buy from you? do they have to have certain needs, pains and gains to buy from you? what are they? do they have a car? do they have a house? do they have alot of free time? Basically you have to imagine your ideal customer. your ideal customer is the one who buys from you in a heartbeat. After you've built this fictional character (your persona) start talking to real people who resemble the persona you've created. From there, you'll start changing and building upon what you have. Do enough customer interviews to turn all your imaginary persona into a more realistic one. One that represent a big chunk of your customers.

Thanks to the SEMrush team for simplifying information. It's worth watching. Finally, let's get to the subject. Several businesses, such as digital marketing and hospitality, must create buyer personas that are comparable but distinct. Personally, I work in the printing industry. I would be grateful if you could offer or recommend processes for creating a buyer persona for the printing sector.

I don't understand why people keep saying ideal customer. You make a buyer persona from the different segments you made from several interviews, but who says it's ideal? It's just realistic. The buyer persona is based on the data you found in the interviews.

Amazingly simplified information , thanks to SEMrush team. Worthy to watch. Coming to the point . Several different industries like Digital Marketing or Hospitality Industry have to make somehow similar but different buyers persona's . I personally belongs to the Hospitality Industry . I would highly appreciate if you could suggest or recommend the steps for making the buyers persona for the hospitality industry.

Hi! Thanks for the video, nice, understandable overview. I have a question regarding the template's last part "purchasing process": It has to be altered to my needs anyway, but I would like to understand your thought process here. The part "Role in the purchase decisionmaking process" is understandable: I guess this also defines the category of this persona (customer, buyer, user ...). But what is lifetime cycle reffering to and why is this an important point referring to the persona? Thanks and best wishes, Tobias

To answer your questions, I'll link you to this article: www.semrush.com/hub/marketing-strategy/buyer-persona/ In the article, we described that insights about Purchasing process (how the target persona makes buying decisions), including the potential lifetime cycle (how frequently do they buy the product or service?), helps amplify the buyer’s journey and sales, as well as helping digital teams to define trigger events. It’s not an essential point for defining the buyer persona of the product. Still, it helps to optimize potential customers’ experience and create the right strategy for future revenue growth.
