Very good vieeo. Extremely informative. My son had communication issues from the outset. There was no regression at aged 2. He never cooed or babbled. My son has severe DLD. He is socially motivated yet would struggle to develop friends. He does not have a sensory disorder nor behaviour issues. I can see how DLD can have miinor autistic traits though.

Does your child have speech and language therapy and a means of communication?

1 to 2 in every class kids in every class will have DLD, not 1 in 2 (aka 50%). Or am I the only one who misheard? I apologize if I am mishearing, just want to make sure the facts are out there

I wonder if my 6yo may have both. He toe walks. Prefers bare feet. He can not get a drop of his clothing wet without impulsively needing to get out of his clothes. But he is fine with loud music and bright lights. He is very hyper active. Usually silly and happy. But can get aggressive and violent when he wants something. Or when told no. Very picky eater. Unwilling to try anything new. But textures doesnt seem to have anything to do with as the few foods he does eat, theyre all different types of textures. I wonder if he has this or some other language disorder though as his mouth works, he can repeat any words and sentences i say CLEARLY. but as of yet hes only really able to label things. No real sentences happening. And he very rarely understands what im saying to him when verbalizing instructions or requests. Not unleas i use a LABEL he knows. But he doesnt understand the bulk of conversation. Not even most basic things, like "turn around and pick that up". He does not pretend play. He doesnt want to play with other children. Though he does seem to enjoy being in the same space with them. Veerry affectionate and interested when it comes to me and other adults. But not affectionate with children. Right now he is diagnosed as Adhd & autistic. But his receptive language issues REALLY has me convinced hes been under diagnosed. Im yet to meet another autistic baby who does not seem to understand language like him. Even those who dont talk seem to know what YOU are talking about when speaking to them. Any advice here??
