The hysteria around Police reform is something that I will never understand. Almost all of the controversial deaths of black people by police that were protested were legally and ethically justified. Jacob Blake was a justified shooting for at least 3 reasons. 1. He tried to get into a car and start a police chase with 3 children in the backseat. Cops are obligated to use deadly force to prevent this. 2. He made a motion that was similar to reaching for a weapon while he was instructed 20 plus times not to do that. 3. He got into a physical fight with two cops and they both tried to restrain him with their hands, then their tasers, and then they had ti use their guns. It’s painful to watch him get shot in the back but it was justified. The issue isn’t police reform. It’s culture reform and accountability reform. People need to stop with the excuses. People need to learn and respect the laws and realize that every moment you resist or defy the police, you are unfairly endangering their lives or safety. If you resist and then make the cop feel threatened, that’s your fault. The police don’t need better training. Citizens need to learn the laws or be taught them in school and understand why the police have the right to use force and how impossible their jobs are.
