Si Senate Majority Leader Juan Miguel Zubiri ang posibleng maging susunod na Senate President. Ito’y matapos sabihin ng mahigpit niyang katunggali na si Sen. Cynthia Villar na hindi na siya interesado sa nasabing posisyon.

Please do not let a Villar handle the Agriculture and Environment committees in the senate. These are not advocacies for Sen Cynthia Villar. She knows that these committees are very important to the real estate business. Our laws consider the concurrence of the Dept of Agriculture in the conversion of agricultural lands to non-agricultural uses. Our agriculture and environmental laws include SAFDZ which regulates which areas can be designated for residential uses. Our environment laws also lay the guidelines on alienable and non-alienable lands. Mrs. Villar's chosen committees can be treated as conflict of interest on her part. These committees under a Villar will not help the agriculture and environment sectors in the country.
