Democrats really want people to believe they can regulate the Supreme Court and are using their favorite black man (to hate), Clarence Thomas, to do it.

I'm not even sure that's possible anymore. It's happened in the past, sure, but if they pass a law to increase the number of justices, can't the Supreme Court just strike it down before it takes effect?

one of the last times i spoke with a very good friend of over a decade was when he told me he wanted clarence Thomas to have a heart attack and die, and he wasn't just being hyperbolic. once i realized i wasn't really like anyone i knew, which was a difficult pill to swallow, i left the left. it's a cult of projected rage and shame and it's such a relief to be freed.

That's a fantastic point! Who would they appeal to? An Executive Order does nothing, well except to let them skirt the law until the court deems it as unconstitutional. Even then this regime just ignores the Supreme Court's rulings and the law and do whatever they want 🤬🤬🤬

Congress may want power, but they're frightened of responsibility and can't be bothered with details (although some of that is the responsibility thing again.) There's some irony in that this means that Congress has absolved themselves of exercising quite a bit of their power, having delegated it to executive agencies by passing vague laws for the agencies to interpret as they (and the President) see fit.

The problem is a question of legitimate authority. If the senate decide they have the authority to "remove" Thomas, but the Supreme Court disagrees, who wins? Whomever can convince the enforcers to enact their will, that's who. Power comes from the barrel of a gun, and those with the guns will ultimately decide who's authority is legitimate.

Well, I will note that the 'good behavior' bit DOES actually allow the legislature power over the judicial, but only in the sense that a hypothetical amendment to the constitution could more explicitly define the term, thus making it actionable... and Congress would by law be intimately involved in said process. Of course, such an amendment would be highly unlikely to be proposed or ratified, especially in a timely manner

Actually they can do it - they can do anything they want. That's the nature of having 100% control and power. The people who write and are above the law are not bound by the law. Hence what's going on with things like parental and gun rights.
