Now it is against the rules (FAA and AMA) and you can be fined for flying a drone (anything - airplane, helicopter, or drone, that can fly using remote control) over people's heads. Don't believe me? And culturally, they promote and live waaaaay more traditional values than we do in the west. And remember that the opposite is true too: Each day they are more like us. What's good is what gets results, and for the last decade, China has been the first economy in purchasing power parity. In terms of volume, it overtook the US a long time ago. Their foreign policy isn't aggressive. They always look for compromise. The fact that they have allowed the US to interfere with Taiwan for so long is a testament to this longsuffering patience they have demonstrated, and it is finally coming to a boiling point with a few mild military threats having been carried out, like when they shot rockets into the channel between the mainland and Taiwan. Propaganda in the west would have us believe that they decided to take land from a sovereign nation last week and went nuts, because they know that most of you don't read history or pay attention to what people in Taiwan actually think of China. For that matter, the same can be said of Russia and the western-pressure to escalate the situation for the last decade in Ukraine. As for North Korea, we've never had the ability to confirm the stories, so stories have been created and re-told as if they're factual. Of the actual first-hand accounts we've had, it's pretty bad, but they've effectively been removed from being allowed to engage in normal trade with other nations. China coming up in the world has probably helped them some, but without the ability to engage in modern manufacturing and assembling due to the American-enforced ban on their exports, they're economically stuck in agriculturalism in a nation of mountainous terrain. We are committing a crime against those people, regardless of how their leader wishes to lead them. If they had the means to change their nation through modernization, they could become as economically formidable as any other Southeast Asian nation. It's we Americans who have held them in poverty for fear of a word: Communism. And let's not forget Russia, whose economy was first in all of Europe last year, despite all the sanctions and restrictions. The US economy by comparison has been sliding downward, not just since 2020, but since 2008.

@@davidt1621 well in any case with my original post "we are more similar to china and nk each day" what I was referring to was the dictatorship and governmental oppression. Because a multimillion dollar fine to an ordinary person just for flying a paper plane? Bankrupting a person forever like that almost equates to death penalty, and that penalty over minor things is what those mentioned asian countries would do.
