Gurdwara Sri Kartarpur Sahib is where Sikhism’s founder, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, spent the last 18 years of his life. Access to the Gurdwara was cut off after partition. But now Indian pilgrims can access it from India via the Kartarpur Corridor that extends 4.5 km into Pakistan.
Pakistan and India worked together to build the Kartarpur Corridor.

Great reaction, you being British citizen, you have to apply for visit visa and visit through proper channel like from airport immigration process and not through the Kartarpur corridor as that's only meant for Indian citizens to visit Kartarpur and not beyond that for security reasons obviously, where as you can visit any where and any city in Pakistan coz you are British nationals. Whereas, the payments are made in dollars coz Indian and Pakistani currencies have lots of flactuation in rates, dollars are much stable. I hope this clarifies your doubts ... Cheers

Yes! Kartarpur Corridor is NOT equipped for full Immigration services. Indian Citizens only do SHOW of PASSPORT & receive a token to visit for a Day. Any Non Indian nationality will have to apply a Pakistani 🇵🇰 visa & come via Wagha Border, if coming from India 🇮🇳 or use an international airport if coming from any other country around the world.

Indians have to apply via an Indian government website, and then would travel through the corridor to Kartarpur. However being British you can apply directly to the Pakistan embassy here in the UK and go wherever you want in Pakistan. Many British Sikhs go to Kartarpur Sahib through this method. There are a number of tour operators that take groups British Sikhs to all the Sikh religious places in Pakistan.

For foreigners they can come directly through the border to Kartarpur sahib. If you are indian you have to come through the corridor. Because the Gurdwara is holy place of sikhs and they come daily in thousands to visit. Of you wanna come through india you have to use Indian passport and if you wanna visit directly you can use British passport. Lots of love from Lahore. Waiting for you guys to come and visit❤

you pay the 20$ fees in usd, that's where the dollar comes in. usd is good for our foreign exchange reserve that's why we prefer to paid in the usd as opposed to the rupee.

Ok another Indian following the footsteps of their media to do propaganda against Pakistan. Yess , a temple was destroyed in KPK which was very unfortunate but you didn't mentioned how Pakistan as a nation reacted after this. So let me tell you that. 14 people were arrested in overnight raids by the police, some of the police officials were fired from their jobs who didn't stopped the mob. Several political leaders condemned this attack. CM of KP immediately took notice of the incident and ordered to rebuild the temple. Not sure whether it was a proper temple but whatever it was, it's now rebuilding. You didn't mentioned about the Mosque which was destroyed in Madhya Pradesh, India a day before this incident. Did Govt took any action against the culprits as they were from the same party as your ruling Govt.

@@abdullah9892 yes but I'm not telling lies here brother .. i know pakistan supreme court said to built its first hindu temple in islamabad but still there are already bunch of protests against it in pak and if you're talking about hindu minorities in pakistan everyone knows what's their condition .. after 73 years of independence they are trying to build temple in pakistan what is happening since th then we all know .. but in india there are over 3 lakh mosques since 1947 I know some people will gonaa talk about ayodhya case but the problem with babri masjid is that it is built on the Temple .. and indian government is going to construct India's first scientific mosque in ayodhya you can do re search on it ..

Karl may not be allowed as overland crossings are restricted to Indian passport holders except for a couple border crosspoints. We (people like you and me, Indian by birth but foreign passports) may have to get Pakistani visa in advance - which btw is extremely hard if your birthplace is India. That said, a trip to Pakistan is on the bucket list.

Hi, thanks for react on Kertarpur. Firstly, from India only Indians can use this corridor because it is VISA FREE entry even if you have Indian passport you can go as same, otherwise for foreigners they can apply VISA ONLINE from their country of residence. Secondly, $20 is a official government fees the only reason is short of currency (IRS and PRS) in eachother country but you can get PRS at the counter for shopping and others even if there is some money left or you didn't use it you can get it refund at the same rate. I hope it answers your questions and doubts. If not then you can get more information from the websites available online. Regards Ali

Hey team! Many other comments mentioned why they charge in dollars and not rupees of either country. Y'all are British Passport holders, but if you and your family are OCI card holders then you can visit the gurudwara via the corridor, i.e., from India. If you're OCI then you know your other benefits too that regular tourist visa holders don't enjoy 😊 However, do check online on the website for the latest rules.

British passport holders with OCI can go. All holders of OCI are allowed. For all other foreigners they can get visa for Pakistan and still visit the Gurudwara.

Namaste: Khalsa: The Five Hindu warriors (Panj) the five Hindu warriors the PANJ PYARES who accepted the GURU's call and transformed into SINGH to fight against the Islamic oppression, on 13th April 1699 guru govind RAI a HINDU who became a SINGH transformed the KHALSA order into SAINT soldiers, he asked for 5 volunteers who could give their lives for the GURU, the 5 volunteers were HINDU's from different cast and backgrounds, thy were: DHARAM DAS (a jat farmer), DAYA RAM (a Khatri soldier), MOKHAM CHAND ( a DHOBI / washerman) , HIMMAT RAI (a Jhir / water carrier), SAHIB CHAND (a nai / barber), after reciting the 5 BAANIS guru govind Ji named them as PANJ PAYARE's who re-shaped the guru nanak's foundation and in return were greeted with waheguruji Ka Khalsa waheguruji Ki FATEH, than the PANJ PAYARE's were renamed as BHAI Dharam Singh, BHAI DAYA Singh, BHAI MOKHAM Singh, BHAI HIMMAT Singh, BHAI Sahib Singh, from this very day the 5 HINDU warriors had a one devoted son a HINDU and one devoted son a SIKH in same families, BANDA SINGH BAHADUR was also a HINDU warrior, his real name was LAKSHMAN DAS VAISHNAVA and he was a KASHMIRI PUNDIT, Sikhism is a DHARMA religion and should not forget the 5 HINDU WARRIORS who became singh's to protect HINDUS and SIKHS, also Sri CHAND guru Nanaks son said that Sikhs should not forget their ancestroul roots of HINDUISM, jo bole nihal Sat Sri Akal, OM Namah SHIVAY, JAI hind.

Kartarpur Corridor is a visa free access point for Indians only. Non-Indians can still go there but they need a visa and they can enter Pakistan from any International entry points such as Lahore or Islamabad. Foreigners can stay in Pakistan as log as their visa is valid but Indian nationals cannot stay in Kartapur overnight. It is just a day trip for them.

If you are not an Indian or Indian passport holder then you can use this Corridor but you can come to Pakistan with Visa and enter the Kartarpur Sahib from the Pakistani side.

Corridor is only for Indian Passport holders without visa, foreigners required visa that's why they can not use corridor. Beside this a lot of people from across of world coming to Kartarpur Gurdwara through proper visa.

If u have a british passport you cant enter through the kartarpur corridor through india,but if you are entering pakistan from india you will have to cross from wagah border in lahore or fly over after getting your visa with a british passport if you have dual nationality with your indian passport you can enter through the corrider for a day on a no visa basis but you will have to apply through the indian system for permission to come to kartarpur since india has its own regulations for people visiting kartarpur. or you can come through a pilgrim visa from india through wagah border and visit kartarpur sahib and 5other gurdwaras such as panja sahib and sacha sauda aswell as afew others from pakistan. Entering kartarpur sahib from pakistan you will have to pay $2 pilgrim tax which is set for pakistanis. Thats about all the info i know regarding this if you are wanting to visit kartarpur sahib its better to do your own research to see which option is more viable or conveniant for yourselfs. Indians come through the corridor. Non indians can come from Pakistan's side. So many have come from Canada, UK, etc. Dollars are used as that is a common currency. We'll add more as time passes.

There is 2 ways one you get direct visa from Pakistan embassy uk and visit second simple go to India and you can cross the corridor if you are Hindu or sikh

Indian expats/foreigners can certainly visit Kartarpur, there are a number of youtube vdos from expat Indians who have visited Kartarpur on foreign passports since it has been opened for pilgrimage. You can check those vdos too. The fee is collected in USD probably because people will not be able to get Pakistan Rupees from India and similarly Indian currency is either not available or not acceptable in Pakistan. Most importantly, you people are more than welcome to visit Kartarpur & the whole of Pakistan...cheers ;) :)

As British citizens you can easily get a Pakistani Visa and go anywhere you want (despite your Indian origin). but this corridor is only for Indian citizens who can visit this Gurudwara WITHOUT a Pakistani Visa. Pakistan doesn't give tourist visas to Indians and vice versa. even if you have relatives or friends across the border it could take a year or even more for an Indian to get a family visit visa to Pakistan and for a Pakistani to get an Indian visa could take even longer. but there are no tourist Visas between the two countries. and since we have no political or trade ties and both countries currencies being weak and unstable it makes sense for them to charge in USD

If you are N.R.I or if you have indian descent proof then you can also visit this gurdwara from Indian side but you can go through Pakistani side if don't have any thing.

Foreigners can go vis Wagha , Lahore. But if you have Indian passport then you can go through corridor.

The answer to our question about why foreigners cannot use the corridor is that this corridor is specifically for Indian (pilgrims) and Indian nationals are exempt from getting visas to enter Pakistan (only for this corridor). While foreigner needs a visa to enter Pakistan and when they get a visa then they visit any place in Pakistan they want. So to make it simple, any foreigner coming from India needs a visa to enter Pakistan.

With your British passport you can go to Pakistan. Just apply for a visa. Plus you can go to all parts of Pakistan. Only part you might not be allowed to go is indian border.

Since you are British... You can apply for Pakistani visit Visa n then travel to any part of Pakistan without any obstacle... Any gordwara...you can name it... You can visit... For understanding just take this example like for US citizens they can come to UAE visa free entry whereas we Pakistanis or Indians have to apply visa before we Enter UAE ...I hope this helps... That corridor is for Indians to visit since it is Visa free for them n they can only visit Kartar pur and not allowed to travel outside that boundary... N foreigners can't enter in to Pakistan without the visa...that is why they can't visit kartarpur through this corridore but instead have to enter through proper channel I.e. to obtain a visit Visa... All non-Indians can go to Kartarpur Gurdwara from Pakistan's side, not through the corridor though. There is no problem. But if you have Indian passport as well then you can go through the corridor as well.

Why is stevie comparing this gurdrwara to others in the world? The point here is a country with a major Muslim population is allowing Indians from across the border to pay a visit to their holy place whereas previously something like this hadn't occurred, and Indian sikhs were always longing to go the holy place of Guru Nanak to pay their respects..so I don't see the point of you comparing it to other gurdwaras around the world and you're saying theres langar all day over there in the UK well duh look at the number of sikhs living there!! Pakistani Government is paying for all the facilities provided here specifically and if they're charging a fee of $20 US I don't think it hurts to pay. I felt like you were downplaying it somehow and the tone wasn't right...Pakistan has had millions come and visit not just from India but from overseas too so yes you guys could definitely visit. Love from an old Aussie sub xx

You can go to kartarpur via pakistan or india on british passport. Karl rock cant go from india but can go via pakistan

Foreigners (non Indian passports) cant use Kartarpur corridor. They will have to fly to Pakistan and enter the Gurdwara from the other side.

#magicflicks Hey, with anyother passport (some passport holder might not get Visa easily based on the relationship with Pak) 🛂, you guys can visit Pakistan after getting visa (should not be an issue for UK passport), and the good news is that you can visit Nankana sahib, Lahore, kartarpur along with other Pakistani citizens and all other places in Pakistan which would be very difficult for an Indian passport holder. Only the corridor is for Indian passport holders.

I think that Kartarpur Corridor is only for indians. If other passport holder wants to visit kartarpur, then you have to enter from Pakistan side. So get a visa for Pakistan and then go for a visit. The kartapur corridor is originally created for the ease of access for sikh community living in india, otherwise due to strained relationship between 2 countries, it was near impossible in the past.

Magic Flicks Guys you can visit Pakistani first then go to India because Indian government maybe you won’t let you go to Pakistan from kartarpur If you guys go first Pakistan then stay 2 or 3 days in lahore then go to India. Thank you so much and welcome to Pakistan
