l’m egyptian who loves football but not too invloved emoitonaelly to be sad, props to senegal, the real problem with our team is that players still prefer to play in our league than go play in europe because some clubs offer them huge money and they don't have to go to another continent where they aren't sure if they are gonna make it, so you can see it's a conflict of interst between el ahly( club with most african champions league wins) and egypt, it's sad, i wish we can be a national team composed of players playing in europe African countries are better at letting their best talented players go play for european clubs, But we still depend on local players. it's not making us move forward with acheiveing better things for egyptian football, but that's an opinion of mine, The problem could be the federation itself and not el ahly, maybe some other problem, it's not so obvious but the way things are run in egyptian football need to chage, get with the times, allow more teams to have foregn players so that el ahly can feel safe to let egyptian players go knowing they can buy 6 or 7 africans in their squad but there is a limit to that.
