My first ride clipless on the Crankbrothers Mallet DH pedal and shoe. Plus, the new Te Mounga Mid section. #downhill #crankbrothers #enduro #ebike #ebikelife

It's always interesting to hear clips or flats debate. Unfortunately what I found (after clipped in with spds for 10+ yrs) went to a hardcore trail/enduro e-bike, now on flats 5+ yrs, can't find that ideal match up of pedal Vs shoes. You find a comfortable shoe and this can dictate type of pedal is best for clear interface. 🥴

Yeah I don’t think there is a utopian answer. You just have to settle with what works “best” at that time. I’m in no way going to throw out my flats, can see myself buying some crankbrothers stamps (flats) and running both.

Awesome Tony! You covered that well. I still think I’ll stick to my flats for now, those crankbrothers look sweet though. 🙌🔥🔥

Cheers mate, they definitely add a new dimension. I think it’ll improve my overall riding, well I hope so anyways haha.

@@seniorsone5066 Yeah I bet, I’m just too scared to try. 🫣 I’m sure you will be riding like Warren in no time 💪👌🙌

Awesome vid I switched to clipless about 2 months ago and also got a pair of crankbrothers ones. First few rides were terrifying but now im pretty used to them, Tight corners get my heart rate up tho 😅

Cheers mate, I’m still in the terrifying stage 🤣. Will hopefully get the hang of them 👍

I've moved from HT pedals and cleats to Crankbrothers, at first clipping in the CB was a little tough so bought the mallet boa shoes too and now it's a dream clipping in and out, buy spare cleats though they are literally soft as shit so you might get through a couple of pairs a year.

Just to add though the stability over rough fast rocky stuff is where clipless shines, I also find climbing easier in them too.

Nice!!! Good feedback, thanks!! Yeah I’ve brought more cleats, I’ve actually brought some easy release ones to try too. Cheers for watching 🤙

I get a lot of comments that I should be on flats but I just remember those bleeding shin days and won't be going back.

I think clips are me now, will keep the flats for when we do anxiety…. I have noticed that 90% of pro riders / local shredders seem to be on clipless so must be something in it 🤷🏻♂️

Clipless forever! My shins are so scared from a few times I tired to go to flats…. Never again will I try flats!

Haha yeah, I probably carry more scars from flats than any other injury.

The Crankbrothers cleats definitely get better once they have worn in a bit, they are a bit tight when brand new Give them 5 or 6 rides and they should be sweet!

I think the issue is mostly user error… I have the easy release (ROSE) cleats coming, should be here next week. Keen to see how those go.

I've been flats always, worried I wouldn't be able to bale if clipped in. Will be interested in your thoughts and progression especially when doing more tech rides. Thx for review.

@@alwilson3548 I’ll be honest, this was the greatest hesitation for me going to clipless. I convinced myself that if I’m in a situation that I need to throw the bike away, having my feet clipped in is the least of my worries haha. From what I’ve seen the bikes seem to unclip in those situations fairly quickly. What I do see a lot of, and did it myself was silly low speed or stand still topple overs. One of the reasons I went with these particular pedals was the fact you can somewhat ride with them unclipped. But I certainly understand your way of thinking 👍

Cheers I think I'll need to look into these Crank bro pedals. As always great videos.

Cheers, I did a fair amount of research and the crankbrothers seemed to suit my needs 🤙
