Soundbar will never come close to proper Atmos Setup. Only recomended for small living rooms etc... Very well done review :)

2 scenarios. Soundbar used is ambeo and tv is SONY XR A95( XR-65A95K) 1. If I connect amazon firestick 4k to hdmi in of the soundbar and then tv's hdmi earc port with hdmi out of soundbar via hdmi 2.1 cable, the sound of, let's say a movie on Netflix, isn't that great. 2. I connect amazon firestick 4k to any hdmi in port of TV. Tv 's hdmi earc port remains connected to hdmi out (earc) port of soundbar via hdmi 2.1 cable. And then I play movies on Netflix app of firestick 4k. Sound is completely different and better. I tested ambeo with these. In the first setting, even ambeo didn't sound great. What are your thoughts?

Just picked one up today did wonder what the thin rod thing was for - had to collect a lot of sound equipment from my uncle, who is terminal ill, he loved his music and sound equipment, lots of electric key boards and organs , he never threw anything away, so one room full of the boxes, tones of music equipment old & new - Sennheiser, KEF, Denon, B&W, Rolan. There must be over 20 speakers also all top branded and tons of cables and leads.

Sennheiser updated the Ambeo firmware to 1.0.237 and also overhauled the Smart Control App. It now supports not only Chromecast, but also Tidal Connect, Spotify Connect and Apple AirPlay 2. They really care about their products.

Hi, I was struggling in picking up the ambeo soundbar and ls50 wireless . I tested ls50 wireless before which sounds really good at music and okay in movie. I'm not that serious listener but I love music, that's why i want a good music experience. I know some may say soundbar can never get close to a separate, but ambeo is actually fantastic in music in many reviews and from my friend's feed back which owns it. My question is, what's the better option? I love spending time on music(70%) and movie(30%). Can ambeo come close to ls50w in terms of music? It's sennheiser so I does give it some confidence. Can anyone share some opinion as I don't want to make wrong decision as u know, they both expensive. Thanks a lot I mean, music is main but movie is also necessary.

The racket that came out sounded like a miss-firing chainsaw. you could have at least played something that gives a better reflection of the sound. Great review, I just recently came into a little money, so bought myself an lg c1 65 inch and an lg SN7Y Dolby atmos sound bar, the tv is brilliant, as for the sound bar , am very disappointed, sounds very ordinary and as for Dolby atmos well meh, The Ambeo would be my absolute dream, have been looking at it for a while, but due to being a bit skint, that’s going to remain a dream for a long time, I have a question though, after connecting the Ambeo to the earc, would I still be getting atmos if I connected my Apple TV 4K to one of the other hdmi’s as they’re only hdmi 2.0, or would I be better off connecting to the tv’s hdmi’s, as they are all 2.1,.

That soundbar looks a beast next to you! ..and at £2200 it costs more than my car..does it have space for 2 kids and shopping :-) I settled on a budget £80 Creative Stage v2 after comparing it (in KZfaq videos and real life) to other 2.1 soundbars from Majority and Bomaker. Big improvement on my Sony X95H's sound for sport and movies (even tho the X95H is supposed to have very good internal speakers) and even good for music from my phone. No fancy Dolby Atmos positional effects but affordable and makes a big difference to the sound of even ordinary TV which is mainly what I watch. Anyway nice to dream..tho maybe that dream should be about a full AV system..or something completely different :-)

I think you might like the vifa stockholm 2.0 if you're going down the lane of an high end all-in-one soundbar solution without a sub. It's more of a musical/audiophile soundbar though, so may appeal to all. Though I personally think natural/uncoloured sound is the most appealing!

Another great review. I just discovered your channel this morning and I am afraid my wallet is going to hate you pretty soon. I have a B&W Panorama 2 with a B&W PV1D sub which is a great combo and I have no complaints as far as sound is concerned. The problem is Panorama is ancient in terms of its connectivity and don’t offer eARC or even 4k pass through which is a pain sometimes and I cant use any of its HDMI ports. Have you had any experience with Panorama 2 and if so would you say it is a side grade or an upgrade in terms of sound quality? PS: I use a TV riser which I bought off amazon to create clearance on my current sound bar which is similarly chunky and I don’t have a wall mounted set up. Thought I should mention if anyone is considering it and don’t have a wall mount option.

I currently own a receiver (Pioneer) and a 5.1 speaker system (from Dali) - around 500W at max. I really like punchy, bassy sound - not extreme, but on the quality side. Do you think that Ambeo can offer something similar? I’m not expecting the same results, of course.

It amazes me that you can say it’s amazing, it’s the best, it’s incredible and at the same time you go on and on about the high cost!!! Do you expect this level of quality and performance to come cheap?? I don’t get it! You get what you pay for. Also, yes it’s big… a piece of equipment this substantial is expected to be big so you’ll have to adjust your TV height - how terrible!!!

As a sound are the AMBEO is beyond FAB....BUT.....the Google Home App. Is beyond Rubbish.....unable to connect to wifi even via WPS....keeps telling me DEVICE NOT FOUND...have complained bitterly to Sennheiser.....even pressing SET UP button and trying to activate wifi via WPS.....cannot get connected....even the display search message does not function ....returning to Sennheiser for health check....but the Google App. ...BIN IT. Why can't wifi be automatically set up on the Ambeo Via The setup button to the on screen tv as my Bluray player is set up via the SET UP MENU...Erganomically needs attention.
