I had dinner with Paul Davis years and years ago. Not a date. Just dinner. He wasn't a super celebrity. He was a kind, soulful man who possessed an impressive way with words. I was beyond sad when he passed away. That one dinner left a lasting impression.

I was in college when this song came out, had a crush on a girl but never asked her out. Everytime I hear this song I think of her 45 years later. Kids can't do this today with the garbage they call music.

I guess I'm proud to say that I must have taught my boys well. They love my 70's music. Every once in a while they'll as me, "Why is it that they don't make good music like this anymore?" They definitely had some great poetic artists at that time. I guess some of my love for romance has rubbed off on them. 😊

This song, " I go crazy" was on the Billboard Hot 100 for 40 weeks and peaked at #1. Everyone loves when an old lover looks in your eyes and they still go crazy! Paul was hot. He was only in his 20's here. The long blonde hair is sexy on him, and the facial hair, moustache and beard are gorgeously masculine. He was somewhat shy and stayed out of the limelight. Their are not that many videos of this man playing this song, either. He could play any of the instruments in his band, very talented that way. He didn't tour much. He had filled our radiowaves with romantic magic and we ate it up back then. I love a lot of different music, but this song is so beautiful, it can reignite an old flame. His other hit 'Cool Night" will also set lover's hearts on fire! Yes I am in love with a dead man. I think I can be forgiven. Thanks for reviewing an master of love songs! People fell in love to his songs. He was a shy, humble, talented and much loved guy who died too young!

There's something about 70s music. Not just the vocals, but the mixture of the synthesizer, the brass, woodwind, and string ensemble that just creates honey in your ears. You just don't gear that in today's music.
