The jury found Chad Daybell, the husband of "doomsday cult" mom Lori Vallow Daybell, guilty of conspiring with his wife to murder his first wife, Tammy Daybell, as well as two of Lori's children, Tylee Ryan and Joshua Vallow. Chad Daybell was found guilty on all charges, including first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit first-degree murder. Chad Daybell could be facing life behind bars.

The appeals process is supposed to help prevent innocent people from being murdered by the state. However, I agree with you that in cases like Chad's where it's painfully obvious that Chad's guilty, I think they should expedite the appeals process and get on with the sentence.

No, they should not go on trial for that. Not that I like either one of them, I wouldn't trust them with anything of mine, but if you listened carefully to the jury instructions, it's clear why they're not on trial. Simply knowing about a crime cannot make you guilty of it. They bought into Chad's BS because they're both nuts but that is not enough to make them part of the conspiracy. You have to do something in furtherance of the conspiracy to be convicted of it. Otherwise, the partners of criminals could be convicted of their significant other's crime if they know about it. Simply put: it's not illegal to be a nutcase or to be a bad person, it is only illegal to _do_ a bad thing. Additionally, I would note that I don't think Melanie G knew about JJ and Tylee's passing, at least not the murder of their physical bodies. On that recorded call, she asks Lori where the kids are because they're not with Kay and not with her. Lori then says they're somewhere safe. If Lori knew Mel G knew, then her response would be something along the lines of: "Mel, you know where they are, why are you asking? Are you recording this? Are you snitching on me to a cop or something?"

According to one of the law enforcement witnesses in this trial (sorry, can't remember which one), LE had brought evidence to the AG's office that they thought was sufficient to charge Chad with Charles' murder, but the AG's office declined to do so (the LE witness said they would only charge if there was evidence that would almost guarantee a conviction, something to that effect). BUT the LE witness did say that that didn't mean there wouldn't be charges in the future. Personally I'm curious to see what charges may come after Lori's AZ trial...for BOTH Chad and Melanie Pawlowski.

Bc, if he were in a prison jumpsuit during the penalty phase in a death penalty case it could cause a bias towards the criminal convicted and make it easier for the jury to choose the death penalty over lwop. I hope we get to see him being transferred to Idaho prison in a prison jumpsuit all shackled and cuffed.

I hope that he meets a different type of justice in prison and never makes his scheduled appearance to the death chamber. Inmates may have a certain reputation for being bad people but they certainly don’t look kindly upon child killers. Especially not of the religious variety.

Death sentences take forever, 20-30 years. They get better treatment on death row, for a fact. Their own private cell, better food and some prisons have their own TV. It's all on Google. The drug manufacturers are not making the lethal injection drugs. They quit some time ago, or they're real hard to get, something like that. So the death row inmates will live out their lives in relative comfort. General population is 100 times worse. I saw a documentary on death row, that's how it is.
