We follow the journey of Prince Sang Nila Utama, a young lord from the powerful Vijaya Empire who's adventurous spirit and curiosity led him to discover a rock from where he beholds the land of Temasek in all its glory. But as with all great tales and discoveries, challenges are bound to arise.
As the prince and his men set sail towards this promising land, they are met with a turbulent storm, challenging their determination and bravery. Despite facing adversity, the prince showed unwavering faith and sacrifice to the god of the sea which allowed them to finally set foot on the island. However, once there they encountered another new challenge in the face of a mysterious and fierce beast. But with unparalleled bravery, the prince forms a bond of understanding with this creature, leading to the land being named 'Singapura', the Lion City.
Fast forward to today, the Singapore Merlion symbol is created as an ode to the rich history and strong connection with the seas. A fusion of the lion's noble integrity and a tribute to its maritime heritage, the Merlion stands tall, ever-watchful over Singapore's evolution from a quaint fishing village to a bustling global metropolis. And where better for this guardian to reside than on the island of Sentosa overseeing Singapore's thriving central business district.
