we've the same folks, 1st -6th generations Irish American fishermen on this East coast. Not many left -but when even 1 man gets lost at sea, Maine still stops in salient respect and walks the widows perch for a moment. Same faces, same beautiful souls. same historical struggles- spiritual wars the sounds you make are familiar in many ways in my mind and heart. thank yous

I first heard this song in the film "Ned Devine," but the words were a little different. In any case want to thank Stiofan and the guys for putting up this great version. And also for putting up the English translation as I don't understand much Gaelige being an American living in Sacramento California. There are many of us diaspora here that take a keen interest in Irish things.

@Clara J I am Russian Australian, no connection to Ireland whatsoever, and I just like Celtic folk music and how Irish and Scottish Gaelic sound. 🤷‍♀️ I am learning to play recorder now but Irish whistle will be my next instrument to learn.
