Seonjajang, the master who makes the Korean traditional foldingfans | KOREA
This is a video clip which introduces the Seonjajang, the master who makes the traditional Korean foldingfans. The spokes of the Hapjukseon crafted by the master are made with the outer parts of bamboo, each spoke being made with the thin two outer parts pasted with glue. That is why the Hapjukseon, the folding fans native to Korea is strong.

That looks cool but with modern technology we can have those all cut to the same thickness within microns and much faster than this guy can split bamboo by hand over a tree stump. We can even play this cool music to a video of a machine pumping out piles of these things in the time it takes this guy with the glue all over his fingers to make one. Ha!

There is a difference in sincerity between making it by machine and making it by hand. I think there is sincerity and depth that goes beyond the speed of production.😊
