@@bbueno2009 You're right the music video is heavily inspired by Tim Burton's 'Batman Returns' movie where Michelle Pfeiffer played Catwoman. Before this movie Catwoman had many origin stories but later Tim Burton's idea of Catwoman being killed by her boss and then resurrected by cats became canon. So yeah Sunmi is basically playing Catwoman in this mv

nowadays in K-pop, except very few females (like Soyeon,Mamamoo members), female producers are such a rare thing that the fact she wrote and produced this song (along with many of her songs) should be praised more than anything.. I feel so sad to see that there is so little respect for producers and songwriters in SK.. like rarely anyone talks about them.. music to them has become all about fashion and which female idol is more beautiful in music video etc etc Just wanna tell u that we notice and appreciate ur talent queen. Sunmi wrote and co-produced the song. Sunmi contacted the choreographer of Monster by Irene and Seulgi, she asked her to mimic the behaviour of a cat. This is truly a masterpiece and Sunmi is involved in all of her artistic work.

I don't see any comments about Catwoman atm so I guess I'll inform, this whole mv (and ig song too) is clearly inspired by the 1992 movie Batman Returns, debuting Michelle Pfeiffer as Catwoman. She was a secretary who was thrown out of a window onto the street by her boss, alley cats surrounded her and in some strange spell, seemingly bestowed 9 lives onto her. After this, she became Catwoman (made a KILLER leather suit,) and ended up killing the man who defenestrated her. Kudos to Sunmi and anyone that worked on this music video!

But she does wear a leather suit and before that suit she is always seen in the 80s' feminine office clothing that we see her in when she gets thrown out of the window

The choreography is literally everything to do with cats. The opening scene like cats entering and playing with a tunnel system toy. The body stretches, the crawling in between people’s legs and having to avoid stepping on their hands, hanging from suspended ropes, the butt wiggles, scratching and grabbing the dancer’s butt, jumping on top of laps with sharp claws, the nine lives, climbing onto the pants and of course the tail up in the air for the closing. Pure genuis. Sunmi gets more and more mind blowing with each comeback.

@@areebah8772 Ok I agree sunmi is a great dancer, but like I'm a little worried about you guys if you can't hold your leg up like that.... like it's not hard at all? Especially if you walk your hands forward like she does. And other parts of this dance require a lot more strength/flexibility? V confused

@@tatertots43 not everyone is flexible lol. doing that move for one second may not be that hard, but staying up like that for a good couple of seconds definitely takes strength.

@@ashleyd9910 I’m genuinely asking this: what part of it requires flexibility? Like she’s bending at the knee and hingeing at the waist. You don’t need to be an athlete or even above average flexible to do that. When you walk your hands forward like she does at the part where she “holds” the pose, it takes the strain off your hamstrings so it gets even easier to do. The moves she does to get into the ending pose are much harder to do and so are several other parts of the choreography. It just sounds really hollow to act like the ending pose is physically challenging when it clearly isn’t, and we could be talking about the moves that are actually hard to do?

don’t worry!! South Korea has suuuuuper advanced press-on nail technologies!! Lol, it sounds kinda silly but it’s sooo dope!! They’re pretty much 3D printed and custom fit, and the “glue” they use isn’t your traditional glue, it’s called “jelly sticky/glue tabs” (tough translation) and they’re like double sided press on tape, except like 1000x stronger, and for your nails!! The press-on nail hype in South Korea and China and Japan has pretty much eradicated the need for acrylics and whatnot lol

The overt sexiness is like a callback to the tone her earlier songs/mvs had. I love the cat woman reference. The visuals are so artistically inspiring.
